The study population included residents of Oredo LGA 18 years and above without prejudice to ethnic nationality, social status, or educational qualifications. LGA counsellors, health workers, and community heads in the LGA also form part of the Oredo LGA. The sample size for this was determined using an appropriate mathematical model for sample size and the multi-stage, otherwise known as area sampling, procedure in selecting respondents for the study. The structured questionnaire and In-Depth Interview (IDI) were used in data collection. The analysis and discussion were based on the data from the field using descriptive statistics and content analysis respectively. The findings from the study revealed that there were different causes of mental health challenges in the study area. The causes could be linked to spiritual, physical, or social and psychological triggers. These triggers included spiritual factors, such as the belief in the possession of evil spirits, and psychological factors, like frequent exposure to stressful and traumatic events. The findings further identified social triggers such as family history, poverty, and drug abuse as leading causes of mental health challenges in the study area. The findings revealed that existing mental health programs, like the school-based mental health program, were very effective. It was, however, discovered that the existing mental health xi program in the study area was not participatory. That is, the community members were not drafted as partners in the process towards addressing the mental health crisis. The services was also not easily accessible thereby limiting their benefits to those who needed them most. The study therefore recommends appropriate implementation of community-based mental health programmes that are participatory. That is, the type that engage the host community in the design, formulation, and implementation of mental health programs in the study area. The programme should be designed in such a way that it engage local leaders, community members, and youth themselves.

Abstract
On 4th October, 1957 the Soviet Union launched the world's first artificialsatellite, Sputnik 1.The United States of America followed by successfully launching its own satellite in 1958. Since then, satellites providing services in different fields ranging from scientific and research, earth observation, global communication services, Global Positioning Systems (GPS) services, banking services e.t.c. At the early stage of the development of space activities, there was a consensus amongst States that the outer space should be for the use and benefit of all States, to to avoid issue of a possible arms race in space in the future. This general understanding culminated in United Nations (U.N.) Outer Space Treaty, 1967, which provides that the exploration and use of outer space, including the moon and other celestial bodies shall be carried out for the benefit and in the interests of all countries, irrespective of their degree of economic or scientific development, and shall be the province of all mankind. The Treaty further provides that States shall not place nuclear weapons or other weapons of mass destruction in orbit or on celestial bodies or station them in outer space. While satellites have become very useful for many civilian services, the fact that they can also serve military purposes, has led to the issue of possible militarization of the outer space. The recent development of Anti-Satellites (ASAT) and other weapons by states, is posing a threat to the security of space assets. There is now the view that an arms race may soon be underway, since existing treaties did not impose a ban on use of other conventional weapons in space. The United States has in the past opposed the development of a new legal regime, since that may place some kind of restrictions on its activites in space. However, because of the vulnerability of of space assets, United States and France are taking steps to contemplating establish Space Command Force to protect their national interests. These devepment has led the United Nations General Assembly to express concern that there had been insufficient progress in recommending ways to prevent militarization in outer space. This thesis discusses the concept of the militarization of outer space from the perspective of the Outer Space Treaty 1967, issues arising therefrom and legal implication for the security of satellite systems and other space assets, and concludes that the current international space treaties provides insufficient safeguards against the militarization and weaponisation of outer space and made useful suggestions in this regard

SUSTAINABILITY DISCLOSURES AND FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE OF BANKS IN NIGERIA.

Abstract
The term business refers to an organization or enterprising entity engaged in commercial, industrial, or professional activities (Adam Hayes 2023). The purpose of a business is to organize some sort of economic production of goods or services. Businesses can be for-profit entities or non-profit organizations fulfilling a charitable mission or furthering a social cause. Businesses range in scale and scope from sole proprietorships to large, international corporations. Sustainability disclosure dates back to the historical beginnings of environmental reporting (Glendanique, 2017). The first sets of environmental reports were published in the late 1980s by companies in the chemical industry which had serious image problems, for instance, a huge PVC producer was denied permits to develop a site near Houston after residents organized to block the plant. Officials who supported the project privately conceded that the company and industry’s image as dangerous and greedy made the difference in blocking what technically was an unobjectionable proposal

Abstract
Gender as a broad concept has been discussed from several pivots. While some scholars focus on the meaning, origin and proponents, some examine the movements in support of the concept while a host of others oppose the motion. However, much emphasis has not been placed on the concept of quest for identity by African women in the African society perhaps as a result of the limitation of scholarly interest in the concept. This essay, through the feminism theory, examines the quest for identity of African women with focus on issues related to the African woman and her society. Issues like single parenting, the pursuit for self-identity, dominance and oppression from the male gender, resistance, self-awareness and the quest for equality. This emphasis is to show that while some African women still dwell in the stet of African culture others have become vicious enough to rebel against it and make attempt to stand out. Amma Darko's Faceless and Bayo Adebowale's Lonely Days are use as the primary texts. case study

BANK LENDING AND THE GROWTH OF THE NIGERIAN ECONOMY

Publication Type
Abstract
The study empirically examined the relationship between bank lending and the growth of the Nigerian economy for the period 1992 to 2021. The ordinary least squares (OLS) estimation technique was employed in the empirical analysis of data. The result from the analysis revealed that, credit to private sector (CPRIV) has significant positive relationship with economic growth in Nigeria; credit to public sector (CPUB) has an insignificant negative relationship with economic growth; while inflation rate (INFL) has a weak negative effect on economic growth, and this suggests that it does not play any significant role in the growth and development of the Nigerian economy. Those of exchange rate (EXCR) has significant positive effect on the growth and development of the Nigerian economy. The study recommends that, credit to private sector should be given more priority if the economy would grow as expected because, through the private sector the real sector of the economy which is central to the economy are directly affected. Failure to do this will only spell doom to the Nigerian economy. Also, there is need to review lending policy on a continuous basis with respect to interest rate with a view to ensuring that the level and structure of interest rates are adequate and consistent with policy objectives of making lending more accessible to private and public sectors of the economy.
