Abstract
The increasing prevalence of Type 2 diabetes poses a significant public health concern, particularly among working professionals such as teachers, whose demanding schedules and lifestyle habits may contribute to their risk of developing the disease. This study investigates the influence of dietary changes, physical activity, and lifestyle modifications on the prevention of Type 2 diabetes among teachers in Egor Local Government Area, Edo State. The study employed a descriptive survey research design, and data were collected through a structured questionnaire distributed to public secondary school teachers. The findings reveal that while most respondents acknowledge the importance of maintaining a balanced diet in diabetes prevention, a considerable number still consume excessive processed and fast foods, indicating the need for improved dietary awareness and education. Additionally, teachers recognize the role of regular physical activity in reducing diabetes risk, yet workload constraints and lack of structured fitness programs hinder their participation in exercise routines. The study further highlights the impact of workplace wellness initiatives in fostering healthier lifestyle choices among educators. Despite the recognized benefits of lifestyle modifications, challenges such as busy schedules, unhealthy dietary habits, and limited institutional support restrict full adherence to preventive measures. The study underscores the need for increased health education, targeted policy interventions, and structured workplace wellness programs to promote diabetes prevention among teachers. It recommends the integration of nutritional education and physical activity support systems into school policies and teachers' professional development programs. Addressing these barriers will be essential in reducing the prevalence of Type 2 diabetes in this population, ultimately improving teachers' overall health and productivity

Abstract
This study explores the determinants influencing the utilization of postpartum family planning (PPFP) among women attending postnatal care at Oluku Primary Health Care Center in Nigeria. The primary aim is to identify the socio-cultural, institutional, and personal factors that affect women’s intentions and actual use of modern contraceptive methods during the postpartum period. Understanding these factors is vital to designing effective interventions that promote reproductive health and reduce maternal and infant morbidity and mortality in the region. The research adopts a descriptive survey design, targeting all women attending the postnatal clinic at Oluku PHC within a specified period. A structured questionnaire serves as the primary instrument for data collection, focusing on demographic variables, awareness, attitudes, and perceptions regarding family planning. Data analysis is carried out using descriptive statistics such as frequency counts, percentages, means, and standard deviations to summarize the responses and interpret the findings. The findings suggest that socio-cultural norms, partner involvement, knowledge of contraceptive methods, and perceived service quality significantly influence post partum family planning utilization. The study concludes that improving education, community engagement, and service quality are essential to increasing contraceptive uptake among postpartum women. Recommendations include implementing targeted awareness campaigns, integrating family planning counseling into routine postnatal services, and fostering male involvement to address cultural barriers and promote positive reproductive health outcomes.

Abstract
This study investigates the knowledge of school safety challenges and their impact on the educational development of secondary school students in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. It emphasizes the importance of a safe school environment as a foundation for effective teaching, learning, and overall student development. The research highlights those frequent issues such as violence, bullying, cultism, sexual harassment, poor infrastructure, and insecurity continue to affect students’ academic performance and emotional well-being in many Nigerian schools. A descriptive survey research design was adopted to collect data from both public and private secondary schools within the study area. Using a structured questionnaire titled School Safety and Educational Development Questionnaire (SSEDQ), data were gathered from a sample of 150 students selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. The study examined students’ awareness of safety risks, their exposure to safety training, and how these factors influence attendance, academic performance, and psychological stability. Findings revealed that although students recognize some safety threats in their schools, many lack sufficient knowledge of preventive and emergency measures. Schools with inadequate infrastructure, poor security systems, and limited safety education reported higher cases of absenteeism, fear, and reduced classroom participation. The study also identified gaps in policy enforcement, teacher training, and stakeholder collaboration as major barriers to ensuring safe learning environments. Based on these findings, the research recommends that school authorities and government agencies should prioritize the implementation of comprehensive safety policies, regular safety drills, and improved infrastructure. Teachers should receive training on child protection and crisis management, while students should be continuously educated on safety awareness and response strategies. A collaborative approach involving parents, communities, and educational stakeholders is essential to creating a secure, supportive, and conducive learning environment for students.

Abstract
This study was conducted to find out the Role of Media in Promoting Environmental Awareness and Sustainable Practice among University of Benin Students.

A descriptive survey design was used for the study. The sample size for the study was hundred and fifty (150) students. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire designed to access the role of media in promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practice.

The findings revealed that media doesn’t provide adequate and timely coverage of environmental awareness issues and it has been so overtime. Media coverage not only informs audiences about environmental threats but also explains their causes, consequences, and possible solutions. Media campaigns by organizations like the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and environmental NGOs have improved public awareness of waste management and pollution. University students, being highly media literate, often depend on these channels for environmental updates. Digital media is more effective than traditional media (print and tv/radio stations) in the promotion of environmental awareness among students. Media messages and awareness campaigns provide information that not only educates but also motivates individuals to adopt sustainable practices, such as proper waste disposal and pollution reduction. However, barriers such as limited internet access, information overload, unclear message, low interest, and weak collaboration between media outlets and environmental organization hinder the full impact of media based environmental education. It was therefore recommended that the university should leverage digital and social media platforms, ensure timely and consistent information reaches the students, and that media messages come from credible and reliable sources to enhance their influence on students attitudes and behaviors.
