Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine how Nigerian TikTok creators employ language as a tool for identity construction and performance in digital spaces. As social media becomes an increasingly significant arena for self-expression, this study seeks to explore the linguistic choices, code-switching patterns, accents and discursive strategies Nigerian TikTok users deploy to project and negotiate multiple facets of their identities including ethnic, gendered, regional, religious, and socio-political identities. The study aims to uncover how these linguistic performances reinforce, subvert, or reimagine existing societal norms.

country's foreign policy consists of self-interest strategies chosen by thestate to safeguard its national interests and to achieve its goals within the international relations milieu. It is the aggregate of a country’s national interest which results from the interaction of internal and external forces as perceived by the foreign policy decision makers.1 The approaches used are strategically employed to interact with other countries. In recent times however, due to the deepening level of globalization and transnational activities, relations and interactions have been known to exist between state and non- state actors in the international political arena.2 These relations in their own way have influenced several foreign policies between nation states. When talking about the Foreign Policy of a country, it is usual and indeed desirable to focus on the aspects of those policies that have endured over time. In the case of Nigeria, policies or principles of the various administrations at the realm of foreign relations which have endured over time are usually regarded by writers as constituting Nigeria’s foreign policy; Africa being the centre piece of Nigeria’s foreign policy; non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries; a strong support for international and regional organizations such as the UN and OAU; resolution of disputes through the peaceful means of arbitration and negotiation, etc. However, it is equally true that, one can also talk about the Foreign Policy of a 1 specific administration of any given country. A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF OREDO AND OZA-AIBIOKUNLADIALECTS OF EDO

This study is based on the linguistic comparison of two different dailects of Edo language. The various dialectal variation of the Edolanguage was identified and their linguistic relationship to prove if all are mutually intelligible. Word list was analysed to find out if these dailects have a genetic and linguistic relationship. Effort was also made to compare the selected word list using parts of the bodyparts, food, nature, things, numerals, relatives, animals, professions, places and other lexical items. With these words list, cognate was used to determine the level of similarities and differences betweenthe two dialects. In addition, we used the cognates to showtherelationship that exist within these dailects, we also examinedtheenvironmental and geographical influence on the central Edoinfluence on the dailects that generated the slight dialectal varieties. Finally, the findings of the two dailects of Edo language showthat Oredo and Oza-Aibiokunla are not separate languages but dialects of the same language due to the 72.65% degree of their similarities.

The abstract concludes that Vietnam was a definitive example of limited war, where the diplomatic objectives of the superpowers preventing global escalation frequently clashed with the local objectives of their Vietnamese allies. The conflict ultimately demonstrated the limitations of superpower influence in the face of determined nationalist movements and the complexities of multi-polar diplomacy in a supposedly bipolar world.

Through Ideation, interpersonal and textual meta-funtion, we have been able to write on the importance and significance of Fela Kuti’s song making use of Micheal Halliday’s systemic functional linguistic because it makes use oflanguage in analysing the text. This theory views language as a network ofinterconnected systems and meaningful alternatives , options or choices for creating meaning. Fela through his songs speak against corruption, nepotism and favouritism.He exposed a lot of wrong done in the society through his music and speaks to the consciousness ofthe poor masses. He sensitize them abou the danger ofnot waking up and accepting reality and fighting for their freedom as these government is not ready to save the masses rather, the government is stealing from them big time.

USING NOLLYWOOD FILMS AS A TOOL FOR PROMOTING FAMILY VALUES

The purpose of this study is to examine how Nollywood Films can be used to promote 'Family Values'. Nigeria, as we know it is a country blessed with diverse culture. Whatever be the differences, there are societal norms and values that are generally acceptable by everyone. This study shows how Nollywood films have assumed an important role as part of every family in Nigeria. In today's society, people tend to pick up different traits from what they see in movies and it is against this backdrop, that the researcher, adopts the historical, descriptive and analytical approaches as the method of reflecting on how the video films in Nigeria affect and influence its viewers, either positively or negatively. The work has shown that most Nigerian Home Videos do not portray any traditional African values and that the movies do not safeguard traditional African values like honesty, hospitability, modesty etc. There is too much display of immorality (Nudity, prostitution etc) and other negative vices in the Home movies. To portray how Nollywood films can be used in promoting family values, a sample of three films were collected and carefully analyzed, noting relevant points as portrayed in the Films. It concludes by canvassing the government and other stakeholders in movie production to look into the potential of the Nollywood film industry in redressing contemporary social challenges and promoting cultural norms and values.

Nollywood, rooted in Nigeria’s cultural and spiritual realities, often portrays ritual as a means of negotiating authority and resolving conflict. Through analysis of the film’s plot and themes, the research examines how these representations mirror societal beliefs while raising ethical concerns about th filmmaker’s role. The study further highlights Nollywood’s continuity with Theatre Arts, showing how performance—on stage and screen—shapes cultural memory, morality, and identity

SYMBOLISM IN OKOT P’ BITEK’S SONG OF LAWINO AND SONG OF OCO

In the poem “Song of Lawino and Song of Ocol” by Okot p’Bitek, there are three important characters who show how different cultures clash and change after colonization in Africa.
Lawino represents African culture. She lives in the traditional African way, doing things the Acoli people do, and she really loves African traditions. She strongly believes in keeping African culture alive and doesn’t like Western influences. Through her character, we see how African traditions can stay strong even when other cultures try to change them.
Ocol, on the other hand, symbolizes Western culture. He rejects his African identity and prefers Western values. He even changes his name to a European one and abandons African beliefs and customs. Ocol doesn’t like African traditions like dances and food; he wants Africa to be more like the West.
This creates a conflict between African ways and Western ideas. Clementine is a character who represents the loss of African identity. She chooses a European name and prefers to speak English instead of her African language. She tries to look like a white woman by using things like skin bleaching and hair straightening. This shows us how African identity can fade away because of Western influences.
All three characters in the poem help us understand how African and Western cultures mix and sometimes clash after colonization. They show us the challenges people face when they want to preserve their culture but also get influenced by the West.

Before European powers came to Africa, the continent was full of rich cultures, strong kingdoms, and well-organized societies. African civilizations developed on their own, with advanced systems of government, trade, art, and building. ¹ The pyramids in
Egypt, the Great Zimbabwe stone walls in Southern Africa, and the beautiful bronze works of the Benin Empire in West Africa are just a few examples. ² These achievements show that Africa had greatness long before the arrival of Europeans. However, things
began to change in the 19th century when European powers decided to take over African lands. At the Berlin Conference of 1884–1885, European countries met and divided Africa among themselves without asking Africans for their opinion. They treated the continent like a cake to be shared, ignoring the cultures, languages, and traditions of the people who already lived there.³
