Abstract
This study examines the challenges of women in Stella Dia Oyedepo’s The Rebellion of The Bumpy Chested and Brain Has No Gender and how they are able to tackle them. The essay focuses on gender inequality and how women find the voice to resist it. The academic documentation that birthed the women socialist movement and resistance to the perceived oppression can be dated to the late 1880s. The term feminism is used extensively and interchangeably as “gender” to advance the struggle for equality, between both sexes and its first appearance in literature is through Hunburtine Auclert in a fresh Journal entitled as “La Citoyenne la feminite” to criticize the male domination of the society and make claims for women right as promised by the then French revolution. The Merriam Webster Dictionary therefore defines feminism “to mean, the theory of the political, economic and social equality of the sexes and organized activity of women’s right and interest. While, “Mairi Robinson” and “George Davidson” define feminism as a belief or movement advocating the cause of women’s rights and opportunities particularly having equal rights with men by challenging the equalities between the sexes in the society (481), “Zava Huda” summarized it to mean a discuss of set of activities that represent the suffering, in addition to their dream for equal opportunities in societies controlled by men, which include the subjugated powers, rules, wishes and orders.

Abstract
Non-linear editing is a modern video editing technique that allows editors to manipulate and arrange video and audio clips in a non-linear fashion. This process is particularly useful in the production of promotional content for movies, as it allows for the creation of dynamic and engaging trailers that can capture the attention of potential viewers. The promotional analysis process typically begins with the collection of footage from the movie, which is then organized and assembled into a rough cut. This rough cut is then refined and polished using a variety of editing tools and techniques, including colour correction, sound mixing, and special effects. Non-linear editing allows editors to easily experiment with different cuts and visual effects, allowing
them to quickly iterate and refine their work until they achieve the desired results. This process can significantly speed up the production of promotional content and help ensure that the final product is both visually and engaging. Overall, the use of Non-linear editing in video making is an essential tool for creating effective trailers and promotional materials. By leveraging on the power of this modern editing technique, movie studios can generate buzz and excitement around their new releases, ultimately leading to increased box office success.

Abstract
This study investigated the adoption and impact of artificial intelligence (AI) in the Nigerian broadcast media landscape, with a focus on Edo Broadcasting Station (EBS) and Independent Television (ITV) stations in Benin City. The objectives of the study were to assess the extent of AI-generated content usage, examine the perceived impact of AI on media credibility, and identify the factors influencing AI adoption in these stations. The study is grounded in the Source Credibility Theory and the Artificial Intelligence Adoption Model and employs survey as research design while utilising questionnaire to collect data from media practitioners in EBS and ITV stations. Therefore, a questionnaire was used as the primary instrument for data collection. The findings of the study reveal a moderate level of AI-generated content usage in EBS and ITV stations, with concerns about credibility and ethical implications. The study concludes that AI adoption can enhance media operations, but it requires careful consideration of ethical and transparency issues. Based on the findings, the study recommends that media organisations develop guidelines for AI usage, invest in training for media practitioners, and prioritise transparency and accountability in AI-generated content. These recommendations aim to promote the responsible and effective use of AI in the Nigerian broadcast media sector.

Abstract
Gender as a broad concept has been discussed from several pivots. While some scholars focus on the meaning, origin and proponents, some examine the movements in support of the concept while a host of others oppose the motion. However, much emphasis has not been placed on the concept of quest for identity by African women in the African society perhaps as a result of the limitation of scholarly interest in the concept. This essay, through the feminism theory, examines the quest for identity of African women with focus on issues related to the African woman and her society. Issues like single parenting, the pursuit for self-identity, dominance and oppression from the male gender, resistance, self-awareness and the quest for equality. This emphasis is to show that while some African women still dwell in the stet of African culture others have become vicious enough to rebel against it and make attempt to stand out. Amma Darko's Faceless and Bayo Adebowale's Lonely Days are use as the primary texts. case study

LEXICAL INDIGENIZATION STRATEGIES IN CONTACT LANGUAGES: A CASE STUDY OF EDO LANGUAGES

Author(s)

Abstract
This research investigates lexical indigenization strategies in contact languages, using the Edo language as a case study. The study explores how foreign lexical items are adapted into Edo through various phonological and morphological processes to suit the linguistic and cultural structure of the language. Chapter One presents the background of the study, outlining the influence of language contact on lexical borrowing, and highlights the significance of indigenization as a means of preserving linguistic identity while accommodating new expressions. Chapter Two provides a detailed review of relevant literature, examining scholarly contributions on borrowing, language contact, phonological modification, and indigenization strategies in African languages. The review reveals that contact-induced change is a universal linguistic process influenced by sociolinguistic and phonological factors. Chapter Three discusses the theoretical framework adopted for the study, which is based on the descriptive linguistic approach. This framework enables the analysis of borrowed lexical items at the phonological level, focusing on modifications such as insertion, substitution, deletion, and extension. Chapter Four presents the data analysis and discussion of findings, showing that borrowed words in Edo undergo systematic phonological adaptation to conform to Edo phonotactic rules. Examples illustrate how sound patterns are adjusted to ensure natural pronunciation within the Edo linguistic system. The study also reveals that lexical indigenization is a creative process that reflects both linguistic necessity and cultural integration. Finally, Chapter Five provides a summary of the major findings, emphasizing that lexical indigenization not only enriches the Edo lexicon but also demonstrates the dynamic and adaptive nature of language in contact situations. The study concludes that lexical indigenization serves as a vital mechanism for linguistic survival, identity preservation, and cultural continuity in multilingual societies.
