Abstract
The act of learning is more effective when carried out under a conducive, favorable or suitable environment. The textile studio of the department of Fine and Applied arts in the University of Benin lacks the necessary facilities required for an effective textile design study and delivery. This research is a quest to solve the problem of inappropriate furnishing of the textile studio of the Department of Fine and Applied Arts University of Benin. Textile is a very large section that requires enough facilities like well-arranged storage system and reliable light box for tracing. Without any of the aforementioned equipment, activities would be at snail speed and could be prone to mishaps. A comparative study of the immediate environment was done to ascertain what constitutes an ideal textile studio in terms of furnishing. It is hoped that the workstation would greatly ameliorate the challenges being faced by the textile students in the studio, creating the avenue for them to adequately express themselves creatively

Abstract
A textile studio is the major place of textile production because it is where the works of art are being done. The lack of ventilated working environment has made the construction of a studio very necessary for students comfortability in learning and creating awareness of how studio should be constructed, arranged, use and maintained; moreover, an ideal studio should have a dye pit and a good bathroom for students to take quick wash from dirts and stains caused during the course of working. This research will provide a lasting remedy to the problem of insufficient working space, the project has revealed that some basic studio equipment’s and tools could be put in place for students use since there is enough space to accommodate the aforesaid. Consequently, having identified the problem of working space in the textile studio of the university of Benin, This research is aimed at completing the construction of the new textile studio which was not completed during the 2017/2018 session in order to further improve Textile Students skills and artistic prowess and aesthetic values in textile production
