Abstract
The impact of interpersonal communication on student learning outcomes in Benin
Metropolis secondary schools is investigated in this study. The study primarily looks into
how students' academic performance, engagement, and overall learning experience are
affected by peer, teacher, and nonverbal communication. About 12,000 students from 47 public secondary schools made up the population, and a
descriptive survey research design was used. A basic random sampling method was used
to choose 180 students from nine chosen schools. A systematic questionnaire was used to
gather the data, and descriptive statistics like mean and standard deviation were used for
analysis. The study's conclusions showed that students' learning results are highly impacted by
interpersonal communication. Peer communication encourages cooperation and
knowledge exchange, which improves performance, while effective teacher-student
communication increases understanding, motivation, and academic success. Furthermore, it has been discovered that nonverbal cues including teachers' eye contact, gestures, and
facial expressions enhance student comprehension and engagement. Recommendations
were offered in light of these findings, which included strengthening teacher preparation
on effective communication techniques, encouraging organized peer interactions, and
boosting teachers' use of nonverbal clues to increase student involvement. To maximize
academic results, schools are urged to incorporate the development of communication
skills into teacher preparation and student learning initiatives.

Abstract
The segmental tone analysis, appreciates each and every speech sound in altercation, both in articulation or deletion. Extant studies tend to see the tone as a purely suprasegmental feature of sounds in the language, but the current
study seeks to depart from this position by advocating for tones to be treated as both a segmental and suprasegmental phenomena in Edo language .This work relies on data collected from interview of native speakers which was
complemented by already published works. The analysis was done using an adapted combination of both linear and auto segmental phonology to analyze the data collected. Individual sound segments influences tone realization
notably enough to justify the accreditation. It is the position of this work that tones be credited to being both segmental and suprasegmental.

Abstract
In this project, a metal polishing machine, an advantageous apparatus in the testing and property investigation of metals, is designed and fabricated. The essence is to produce a simple and affordable piece of apparatus that can be used in research centres, laboratories, and workshops of Nigerian higher institutions and can serve as an alternative to the imported and costly polishing
machines currently in use. The design uses motor-powered grinding wheels of appropriate composition to be rotated against a marked-out area of a sample metal piece to be polished and subsequently etched for metallographic purposes. A considerably chemically inactive liquid does the etching in Nita solution comprising nitric acid and ethanol. Mainly dependent on the type of
metal being polished, water is used for flushing the polished area to ensure a smooth polished surface that retains the original microstructural composition and arrangement inherent in the original sample as it where before polishing. The polishing wheels are fine-grained and dense structured abrasive materials bonded together with an appropriate bonding agent. Provision is
made for wheel insertion and removal from the motor spindle to accommodate different wheel types- either with a soft grinding abrasive material for polishing hard metals or hard grinding abrasive material for soft metals. A tank will also be incorporated into the machine to aid the flow of fluid needed for this experimentation. Thus, with the locally fabricated polishing machine from this project, it is possible to etch different types of metals for proper surface exposure for optical or electron microscopic investigations and analysis.

Abstract
Cattle dung contains a lot of potentially pathogenic bacteria. Data on bacteria from local cattle
(muturu) unlike its fulani relative is however scarce. This research was carried out to analyze the
bacterial microflora of cattle muturu dung. A total of four stool samples received in our
Laboratory were analyzed. A ten-fold serial dilution was carried out on all samples. Briefly, one
(1) gram each of stool sample was weighed onto test tubes containing 9ml of sterile distilled
water to make stock solutions. The tubes were homogenized after which 1ml was inoculated onto
petri dish containing solidified agar and rocked for even distribution. Agar plates were incubated
at 37°∁ for 24hours. Bacterial counts were carried out on each of them. Identification of bacteria
isolates were carried out using standard guidelines such as morphological (shape, size, arrangement, staining property, motility and spore formation) colonial (texture, elevation, margin
and colour) and biochemical (catalase, oxidase, citrate utilization, urease and indole production)
characteristics. Bacterial isolates recovered from cattle dung incude: Eschericia coli, Salmonella
sp.,Staphylococcus sp., Enterococcus sp., Shigella sp., Bacillus sp. and Streptococcus sp. The
antibacterial resistance pattern of bacterial isolates to routinely used antibiotics (azithromycin, levofloxacin, erythromycin, pefloxacin, gentamycin, ampicillin-cloxacillin, cefuroxime, amoxiclin, ceftriaxone and ciprofloxacin) was carried out using the Disc diffusion method. The
total heterotrouphic bacterial counts ranged from 1.5×10
3cfu/g – 9.8 ×10
5 cfu/g. Bacterial
isolates showed varying resistance to the antibacterial agents used in this study. Both isolates of
Eschericia coli were resistant to azithromycin and levofloxacin. Bacillus specie was resistant to
erythromycin and pefloxacin while Salmonella sp. showed resistance to gentamycin. The
presence of antibiotic resistance bacteria in local cattle dug could be of grave public health
concern

Abstract
In Nigeria, bananas and plantains are important staple and cash crops. Nevertheless, one of the major constraints to their production is the unavailability of healthy planting materials at planting time. Fortunately, micropropagation using bud manipulation technique could be used to produce large numbers of healthy plantlets in a short time. The response of five Musa cultivars to micropropagation using bud manipulation technique was evaluated in the horticultural Nursery of the Department of Crop Science, University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria in June, 2017. Three sword suckers (about 5-40cm in height) of each Musa cultivar were used. Two sword suckers (about 5-40 cm in height) of each Musa cultivar were used. The corms of each cultivar were cut through to remove apical dominance, and were treated with neem leaves extract/fungicide, and allowed to air dry for 72 hours under a shade. This was followed by planting the corms of each cultivar in high humidity plastic propagators. The experiment was laid out in randomised complete block design with three replications. The results indicated that there was no significant difference among the Musa cultivars in their response to micropropagation. The mean number of sprouted shoots per corm for plantain was 3.2-4.3. while banana and hybrid had 1.0 and 1.5 respectively. The mean total number of plantlets produce among plantain cultivar varied from 8.7-14.0, while banana and hybrid banana 3.0. The response of banana and plantain bud manipulation technique depends on the variety, and since the technology is simple and affordable there is hope of high farmer adoption through workshop training and collaborative research with farmers.

Abstract
This essay, "Themes and Style in Julie Okoh's 'Our Wife Forever'," analyzes the dramatic presentation of post-colonial and patriarchal struggles faced by Nigerian women, specifically focusing on the entrenched issues of widowhood rites, inheritance, and domestic violence. The study employs Feminist Theory as its primary theoretical framework to critique the patriarchal structures, customs, and traditions (such as widow inheritance) that subjugate women, as exemplified by the antagonist Thomas's insistence on inheriting his late brother's wife, Victoria, and his proper
The research critically examines the central themes of sexism, gender struggle, oppression, and the conflict between atavistic tradition and modernity. The essay demonstrates how Okoh leverages various stylistic features—including suspense, irony, the symbolic use of character names (like Thomas and Hector), proverbs, and songs—to critique the inhumane treatment of women. The play is analyzed as a piece of reality laced with surrealism (use of dreams) that functions as a clarion call for the protection of women's rights and the eradication of gender-based violence, ultimately singing of the superior power of love and hope in overcoming patriarchal oppression.
The methodology involves a close reading of the play and a review of related literature on Nigerian literature and feminist scholarship to provide a comprehensive analysis of the novel's contribution to the discourse on women's empowerment and social justice in Nigerian society.
