Abstract
The purpose of this research is to have an affordable and clean energy supply in our household. Inadequate power supply in Nigeria has been a major challenge bedeviling our institutions. Some areas connected to the distribution companies (DISCOs) have what is referred to as a regimented load shedding where power supply may range from 6.00 to 12.00 hrs within 24 hrs. Homes and offices have resolved to sourcing for alternative power supply such as generator plants, solar PVs, inverters, etc. Thus, the 2.5KVA inverter system was proposed to serve as a backup once there is power outage from the DISCOs. An inverter system enables the conversion of direct current (DC) from batteries to alternating current (AC) needed to run the office appliances at a minimal cost and optimal efficiency. The project focuses on the design and construction of a pure sine wave 2.5KVA 50Hz inverter system to deliver 220V AC using 2 Nos 12V DC batteries (rated 200A) connected in series.

Abstract
Benign prostate hyperplasia is a disease of ageing men. Oxidative stress is a promoter of the ageing process. This study evaluated the effect of the ethanol seed extract of Persea Americana (PAE) on antioxidant and lipid per oxidation status of male rats induced with benign prostate hyperplasia and spectroscopic analysis of the extract. Five groups of five rats each were induced
with benign prostate hyperplasia by the subcutaneous administration of testosterone (3mg/kg). Group 1 rats (negative control) received 10 ml/kg of distilled water. Group 2 animals (standard control) were treated with finasteride (4mg /kg). Groups 3, 4 and 5 received 100, 200 and 400 mg/kg dose of PAE respectively. Groups 6 animals (normal control) were neither induced nor
treated. All administration was daily for 28 days by oral gavage. Rats were sacrificed on the 29 th day, blood obtained, and serum enzyme activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione reductase (Gsr) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) were measured with Elisa assay test kits. Malondialdehyde concentration was equally measured. High-Performance Liquid
Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (HPLC-MS) was used to identify compounds present in PAE. The extract significantly (P<0.0001) increased the activities of SOD, CAT, GPx and Grs compared to the negative control at the dose of 400 mg/kg while MDA concentration was significantly reduced. Digoxin, tetramethylquercetin and abscisic acid were identified in PAE

Abstract
The phase independence of the judiciary is not a strange concept to any student or concerned citizen of any country including Nigeria. The concept of independence of the judiciary has long been introduced as an important ingredient to uphold the rule of law in any country. The independence of the judiciary in Nigeria is enshrined in Section 17 of Chapter 2 of The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 which states that “the independence, impartiality and integrity of courts of law and easy accessibility thereto shall be secured and maintained”. Unfortunately, this chapter of the constitution is not justiciable, meaning that none of the objectives and principles set out in the chapter can be enforced. Thus, the instrument creating the Nigerian judiciary does not clearly provide for the enforcement of its independence. This is one of the reasons many often wonder if the judiciary is and can be independent. This paper seeks to answer the question, is the Nigerian judiciary independent? How free is the Nigerian judiciary from interference? In answering these questions, it is important to first understand the meaning of the words independence and judiciary, what constitutes an independent judiciary? This will include an illumination into the development and structure of the Nigerian Judiciary, the development of independence in the Nigerian judiciary since independence under the different constitutions and the military dispensation. The challenges to an independent judiciary in Nigeria will be discussed along with a brief comparison with other nations, in particular the United Kingdom from which most of our laws emanate.

Abstract
This research work focuses and seeks to achieve the goal of explaining and analyzing the pre-colonial past of the Ibusa community since its foundation. Even though much attempts have not been made to give a vivid and clear-cut description of the rich culture of these distinct Igbo group, it is evident that the Ibusa community had an organized pattern and way of doing things before their interactions and colonial dominations by the Europeans. Ibusa as an Igbo community in Delta State was born out of some certain migrations that took place several years as far back as 1450. These movements formed the present day Anioma group as identified by Onuejeogwu who was supported by Egwu.1 Ibusa is a classic example of bipartite social structure formed by two different settlement histories occurring at fairly close intervals. Ibusa thus is a federation of two autonomous communities that have different origins.2 It is a town situated between the Igbo and Edo. It is also a town lying in the midst of people claiming to have both Igbo and Edo blood in them. This is the situation Ibusa, a town now situated in today’s Delta State; south-southern part of the country has found itself geographically

Abstract
The potential of calcined agrowastes particularly chicken eggshells (CES) impregnated with ripe plantain peels (RPP) as a suitable catalyst for the conversion of waste cooking oil to biodiesel (FAME) by trans-esterification was investigated. The catalyst derived from these agro-wastes was synthesized by dry impregnation using physical mixing. The free fatty acid (FFA) content of waste cooking oil used for transesterification was measured to be 0.131%. The reaction conditions with methanol to oil molar ratio of 6:1, reaction time of 90 minutes, catalyst loading of 2% oil weight and a temperature of 60°C was kept constant while the catalyst’s design mixing ratios of ‘RPP: CES’ was varied. The FT-IR, XRD and elemental analysis by XRF revealed the catalytic action of these materials (RPP and CES) is a result of their metallic content (K+ and Ca 2+ ) and their microstructural formation change is noticeable when calcined at above 700°C. The experiment was carried out by the trans-esterification of the oil using each of the different designed catalyst samples to investigate the influence of their different mixing ratios on biodiesel yield. The results of the chart plots using Microsoft Excel 2010 showed that the optimum biodiesel yield consistent with ASTM D-6751 and EN 14214 standards was 75.04 % and the catalyst mixing ratio of 1:3 by mass was the optimal design ratio
