Abstract
Natural gas, which can be found in conventional natural gas reservoirs as non-associated gas (NAG), associated gas (AG), or gas condensation products, is a combustible gaseous combination of gaseous hydrocarbons, very light liquid hydrocarbons, free water, water vapor, and other undesirable non- hydrocarbon gaseous and solid components. Water or water vapor is eliminated rom the streams of natural gas through the process of natural gas dehydration. Production, handling, and transportation of natural gas are hampered by the presence of water that is free in the gas. Therefore, it is imperative to eliminate a large portion moisture as feasible from the gas stream. While there are a number of ways to dehydrate natural gas, the following are the most idely used ones:

Abstract
The study investigated the elderly behavior towards drugs taking for their well-being in Sabongida-Ora community, Edo State, Nigeria. The objective of this study was to investigate and highlight the elderly behavior towards drugs taking for their well- being in Sabongida-Ora community. The research questions asked to achieve the objective of the study were as follows; what are the elderly behaviour towards drug taking in Sabongida-Ora community, What are the causes of the elderly behaviour towards drug taking in Sabongida-Ora community and What are the best method to improve the elderly behaviour towards drug taking in Sabongida-Ora community. The sample size was 294 participants chosen from the study population using the Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling, the research instrument utilized was the questionnaire. Conclusion drawn from the analysis of the data retrieved from the questionnaire indicates that the growing awareness of the drug use problems of the elderly clearly points up the fact that real understanding and indepth knowledge of the area is lacking. Although it is true that some elderly people are receiving too much of too many psychoactive medications, it is also true that many are not now using psychoactive drugs that could significantly help them. These and other issues need intensive study. It is crucial, then, that at this juncture, NIDA actively participate and assist in the development of new knowledge and innovative service delivery models in order to provide every assurance that the elderly population who are experiencing difficulties associated with their drug use can be accurately identified and provided quality care. Recommendations were made based on the findings and they include: Physicians must always review all medications used. Special attention must be paid to nonprescription drugs, herbs and supplements. Various criteria sets exist in the literature that identify medications to be avoided, or prescribed with caution.

AN ANALYSIS OF THE IMPACT OF ONLINE NEWSPAPER REPORTING ON PUBLIC PERCEPTION OF CRIME AND JUSTICE: A STUDY OF PUNCH AND VANGUARD NEWSPAPERS

Year of Publication
Publication Type
Abstract
This research explores the dynamic interplay between online newspaper reporting and public perception of crime and justice issues, with a particular focus on the Nigerian media landscape. As online newspapers have gained prominence in the information landscape, understanding their influence on how the public views matters related to crime and justice becomes increasingly vital. The study delved into the reporting practices of two major Nigerian online newspapers, Punch and Vanguard, aimed at deciphering how their coverage of crime and justice impacts public perception. It employed content analysis as the research method, systematically collecting and analyzing data from a total of 178 editions of both newspapers published between January 1, 2023, and March 31, 2023.The findings of this study offer noteworthy insights. Media organizations, it appears, give considerable coverage to crime and justice issues, but often lack prominence in their reporting. Their interpretative function falls short, as most articles tend to present straight news. Furthermore, the frequency of reporting on these critical topics is not as high as might be expected. The media's standpoint leans more towards the negative side concerning crime and justice matters, with a particular focus on criticism and public reactions to policies. In light of these findings, several recommendations emerge. Media organizations are urged to maintain a balanced emotional tone in their news reporting. Increased frequency in reporting on policy-related issues, especially in their early stages, is advised to enhance public understanding. The media should prioritize informative reporting that enlightens the public rather than emphasizing stories of conflict and policy challenges. Finally, a call is made for
the media to uphold neutrality, truth, and accuracy in their reporting to present a fair representation of government policies. This research underscores the pivotal role of online newspapers in shaping public perceptions of crime and justice in Nigeria. It contributes to the fields of media studies and journalism, offering a comprehensive examination of how these newspapers influence public opinion and policy-making in this crucial domain.

DESIGN OF A 3.5KVA STANDALONE HYBRID INVERTER POWER SYSTEM

Year of Publication
Publication Type
Abstract
The main purpose of the project was to design a 3.5KVA inverter which makes use of both solar and mains or grid supply for charging the batteries. This is to reduce the frequency of power outages experienced in our homes and businesses. The project was carried out with the use of two 12V batteries connected in series to give a total of 24V DC which would serve as input for the inverter when on inverting mode and give an output of 220V AC for household appliances. Incorporated within the inverter was load control features, such that when the inverter stops charging and starts inverting, at a particular battery level set by the user, the heavy loads would be cut off while supply of power to the light loads continues. But when critical battery level is reached the light loads are also cut off and the inverter shuts down. This was done using Microcontroller in controlling relays which either powers on the load or cuts off the load when the battery is low. The proposed inverter design has two outputs through which load management was achieved. One of the outputs is designated to light loads and the other to heavy loads. The Microcontroller DSPIC30F4012 controls the load stage which can be programmed through the keypad to monitor the output power to the loads in output one and two, to ensure they do not draw power beyond the limits programmed by the user. To achieve this, the Microcontroller cuts off either of the outputs which exceed the set limit. The project was successful and the test results obtained was satisfactory. The inverter's operation was consistent with the design and the desired control of power consumption and power management was achieved.

THE CHARACTERIZATION OF THREE INBREED LINES OF TOMATO GENOTYPES FROM IGBODO

Year of Publication
Publication Type
Abstract
One of the world’s most important vegetable plants is the tomato (Solanum lycopersicum). It can be consumed raw, cooked, or utilized to make items with tomato as the base. Because lycopene is one of the main sources of carotenoids, it has also been proven to be helpful in studies involving these pigments. In order to identify the tomato genotype that is most likely to be used in tomato breeding, this research was done to characterize three inbreed lines of tomato genotypes from Igbodo. The identification of genetic variability that exists within crop germplasms depends on agronomic evaluation of crop genotypes. In order to do this, the fruits of 3 tomato genotypes were assessed, using a UV spectrophotometer, the lycopene content was calculated. Fruit weight ranged from 6.222±0.660 to 13.96±1.661. RD-igb had the highest fruit weight while PY-igb had the lowest fruit weight. The lycopene content was evaluated for three genotypes; RD-igb, HD-igb and PY-igb. Genotype 2 recorded the highest fruit lycopene content with a value of 1.336±0.321 to 1.715±0.253 while genotype 1 recorded the lowest fruit lycopene content. Some attributes had a significant coefficient of variance, whilst others showed little genotype-to-genotype variation. While some genotypes, such as genotype 1, had low fruit lycopene values, genotype 2 had high fruit lycopene content. When choosing tomato plants with desirable qualities during tomato breeding, these tomato unique diversities can be used as a guide.
