Abstract
A segment of the livestock industry, poultry birds include chicken, turkeys, ducks, and quails. Ectoparasite infestations are a common occurrence in poultry farms. These parasites feed on the skin, feathers, and blood of the birds, which results in illnesses and decreased egg production. Chicken lice is one common instance. The Phthipraptera order includes lice. Iguosa and Senior Staff Quarters (SSQ) in Ovia North East of Edo State are where this study was carried out in July 2023. This study was conducted to determine the species composition of lice in Ovia North East, abundance, species composition and mean intensity. The feathers of 101 hens were carefully held horizontally, in the opposite direction of their anatomical alignment, to expose the lice. The chickens were then hand-selected and inspected for lice. The only lice species identified in both farms were Menacanthus stramineus and Menopon gallinae, with Menacanthus stramineus being the only species on Iguosa Farm. 98.02% of both farms had lice, with M.stramineus having a frequency of 98.04 and M.gallinae having a prevalence of 14.85%. Iguosa had a total of 96.08% lice prevalence, while SSQ had the highest prevalence of 100%. M.stramineus was present in both farms, with no significant difference between them (p>0.1, p=0.127). In order to reduce the prevalence of lice and, especially, to increase poultry output, proper poultry management should be followed. Proper and constant treatment for lice should also be ensured.

Abstract
This study empirically investigated the value relevance of non- financial information in the annual reports of commercial banks in Nigeria. The study is important as it portrays the extent to which non-financial disclosures influences share prices. Using the Ohlson (1995) model which was modified, the study used share price as a measure of the value of the commercial banks while, Corporate Environmental Disclosure(CED), Corporate Governance Disclosure (CGD) and Corporate Social esponsibility Disclosure (CSRD) were used as the proxy variables for Non-Financial Disclosure ( NFD). Ex post facto design was adopted and data for the study were obtained from the published annual reports of the thirteen commercial banks listed on the Nigeria Exchange Group
(NGX)from 2016–2020. The findings generally indicate that environmental and corporate social responsibility assert a positive and significant effects on firm value of commercial banks while, corporate governance disclosure asserts a negative and significant influence on the value of the banks. However, this study suggests that firms should disclose more
of these information in their annual report as these information disclosures have exerted significant influence on firm’s performance over the years.

Abstract
Increasing demand for wood and fossil fuel which have limited availability has, over the years, contributed majorly in environmental pollution. The availability of energy for cooking remains a major concern in developing countries and cooking is a daily household activity. The negative environmental effect of wood and fossil fuel necessitates inquest for an alternative energy source that is sustainable. Biogas, over the years of research has shown favorable characteristics which make it an excellent option as an alternative fuel source. However, more research has to be made into designing and developing devices or appliances that utilize the biogas efficiently. This study details the design and fabrication of a biogas stove for domestic use with rural communities of developing countries such as Nigeria in mind focusing on characteristics such as efficiency, simplicity and cost-friendliness of the design. The biogas stove consists of the following major components: burner head, mixing tube, the injector burner support, etc. The Bernoulli’s theorem was used to derive the flow rate of gas as well as key design dimensions to maintain this flow rate. The biogas stove was fabricated using stainless steel for the burner head, mild steel for the mixing chamber and a brass alloy for the injector component. The material selected were chosen based on considerations given to corrosion, local availability and then cost. The clearance between the cooking pot and the burner head is 45mm, while the clearance between the flame ports is 5mm. The injector is connected to the mixing chamber which tapers down to the throat diameter of 14.7mm which is maintained as the diameter of the mixing chamber. The mixing chamber is connected to the burner head which is a cylindrical component with a top having 32 burner ports each of 3mm diameter drilled into it, from which the gas can be ignited. The result of three water boiling tests places the heating efficiency of the stove at 58.51%

Abstract
Medicinal plants and the bioactive substances they contain have drawn the
interest of various researchers over the past ten years due to their ability to
cure different illnesses. Ocimum gratissimum is a member of the Lamiaceae
family. It is cultivated in several gardens surrounding village huts in Nigeria
under the popular name "scent leaf" for both medicinal and culinary purposes. The aim of this study is to elucidate the effect of ocimum gratissimum on some hematological parameters in male wistar rats. The effect of methanolic extract of Ocimum gratissimum on some red blood indices of Wister rats was studied using fifteen healthy adult wistar rats with weights ranging between 140-160g. The rats were divided into three groups; control group, low dose group and high dose group. Increasing doses (100mg and 300mgkg-1 body weight) of the extract were administered orally to the other two groups for a period of four weeks. Sample collection was done via cardiac puncture using 5ml syringes. The extract displayed a significant increase (p<0.05) difference in platelet levels when compared with the normal control and a non significant difference (p<0.05) in the other parameters were observed. In conclusion, the extract of gratissimum might be a panacea in the management of anaemic conditions due to its
erythropoietic, and/or haematopoietic effects, and beneficial to the blood’s oxygen supporting ability and thrombopoietin, putting into consideration that there were no alteration in the morphology and fragility of the RBCs
