Abstract
This project focuses on building a web-based ticketing system that uses QR codes and real-time attendance tracking to make event management faster, safer, and more efficient. The goal is to replace the old, paper-based ticketing method with a digital solution that allows users to buy, manage, and verify tickets online. When a user purchases a ticket, the system automatically generates a unique QR code that contains their event and ticket details. At the event venue, organizers can scan this code using any device with a camera to confirm the ticket’s authenticity. Once scanned, the ticket’s status changes immediately, preventing anyone from reusing it. The platform includes three main roles: Admin, Organizer, and User. Admins handle event approvals, monitor activities, and manage users. Organizers can create and manage their own events, while regular users can browse upcoming events, buy tickets, and even apply to become organizers if they want to host events. The system is built as a responsive web application, meaning it works well on both computers and mobile devices. It also updates attendance data in real-time, giving organizers an accurate view of how many people have checked in. Overall, this project provides a modern, secure, and eco-friendly way to handle event ticketing — proving how web technology and QR codes can simplify event registration and attendance management in today’s digital world.

Abstract
Scripture Union (SU) is widely recognized for its evangelistic mission in Nigeria, yet its influence extends far beyond the spiritual realm. In southeastern Nigeria, the organization has played a vital role in social and economic development through initiatives in education, healthcare, community building, and empowerment. While existing studies often emphasize SU’s religious dimension, this research highlights its broader contributions, revealing how the movement has shaped communities in tangible and transformative ways. The study also traces SU’s growth and expansion in southeastern Nigeria, focusing on its transition from a missionary-led movement to an indigenized body that adapted its mission to local needs and realities. Through its diverse activities, SU has addressed pressing social challenges in the region. The organization’s educational efforts—such as literacy programs, mentorship for young people, and school outreach—have expanded access to learning and personal growth. Its healthcare interventions, including public health awareness, counseling, and welfare support, have improved community well-being and strengthened families. Moreover, SU has been a moral and social force, fostering community cohesion, promoting ethical values, and advocating for social justice. These initiatives have not only met practical needs but have also reinforced a sense of shared responsibility and moral renewal within southeastern communities. Beyond its social programs, SU has significantly advanced economic empowerment by promoting self-reliance and entrepreneurship. Through vocational training, cooperative societies, and skill development initiatives, it has provided meaningful livelihood opportunities, especially for youth and marginalized groups. These efforts have reduced dependency, enhanced productivity, and contributed to local economic stability. Drawing from archival materials, interviews, and historical records such as Plumbline Magazine, this study reveals that SU’s enduring impact goes beyond evangelism. Its faith-driven approach to development demonstrates that religious organizations can serve as critical agents of transformation in contexts where government support is limited, leaving a lasting legacy on individuals and communities across southeastern Nigeria.

Abstract
This study comparatively examined the politics, governance and development in pre colonial and post-colonial Nigeria. Politics is conceived as the study of the state and its institutions and the relationship these institutions have with the people living in the state. Governance refers to the activity, process or quality of governing. Development is concerned with changes in environment, health, economy, politics, social and cultures that create and supports lives. This study was qualitative, relying on secondary materials such as books, articles, newspapers and other secondary materials. The study found that politics in pre-colonial and post-colonial Nigeria are significantly different. While both can boast of operating under checks and balances, the principle was more entrenched and respected in the pre-colonial period than in this contemporary post-colonial period. In post-colonial Nigeria, various institutions appear to be serving the interest of the executive headed by a president who wields so much power. It was also found that governance in pre-colonial Nigeria and post-colonial Nigeria are different in that in pre colonial period, governance was based on decentralized and centralized system. The exigency of power depended on the region or community. In post-colonial Nigeria, the governance system is characterized by high corruption, foreign domination, exclusion and socio-economic crisis. Leadership is a very big challenge since independence orchestrating agitations from the people. Lastly, it was found that development in pre colonial Nigeria and post-colonial Nigeria are different in that in pre-colonial period. Development during pre-colonial period was seen in the areas of commerce and trade which provided the needed harmony and peace for communal living. Whereas in post colonial Nigeria, there have been preponderance of poverty, malnutrition, insecurity, health-related issues, rapid inflation and poor infrastructure. The study therefore recommended that there is need for the current post-colonial Nigerian government to revert to the era of agriculture-based economy; entrench the principle of checks and balances that would address tyranny and entrench accountability and transparency in the public dealing and the political system of Nigeria should reflect the ethnic, religious and socio-economic background of the people.
