Abstract
This study explores the level of knowledge and awareness of social work practice among students of the University of Benin. Social work, as a professional field, plays a vital rolein promoting human well-being, advocating for social justice, and enhancing the quality of life of individuals, families, and communities. Despite its growing significance in contemporary society, social work remains a misunderstood and under appreciated discipline, particularly among university students who are expected to be future change agents. The research assessed the extent to which students from various faculties and departments understand the goals, principles, and practical applications of social work. It also investigates factors that influence awareness levels, such as faculty of study, exposure to social work education, and participation in social intervention programs. The methodology adopted for this study is a quantitative survey research design, aimed at
collecting numerical data that can be statistically analyzed. A structured questionnaire was developed and distributed to a stratified random sample of 500 undergraduate students across different faculties within the University of Benin. The questionnaire contained both closed and open-ended questions designed to measure students' awareness, understanding, and perceptions of social work as a discipline and profession. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequency tables and percentages) and inferential statistics (Chi-square tests) to determine the relationship between students' demographic variables and their level of awareness. The findings revealed significant gaps in knowledge about social work practice among students, with recommendations geared toward improving social work visibility and integration into general university curricula. Ultimately, the study underscores the need for greater advocacy and educational campaigns to raise awareness and promote the relevance of social work in national development, especially in higher education institutions such as the University of Benin

Abstract
This study investigated the application of the Paris model theory as a critical framework for fostering sustainable development in Nigeria, focusing on Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. Utilizing a descriptive research design, primary data were gathered from 100 respondents through structured questionnaires, and the analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics—frequency, mean, and percentage—complemented by inferential chi-square tests. The study revealed significant developmental barriers in the region, with high mean scores indicating pronounced challenges such as unemployment (mean = 4.12), poor healthcare services (mean = 4.06), infrastructural decay (mean = 4.12), and widespread poverty (mean = 4.70). Furthermore, hypothesis testing established
that enhanced access to social infrastructure (χ² = 34.78, p < 0.05), greater political accountability (χ² = 172.72, p < 0.05), robust environmental sustainability (χ² = 102.54, p < 0.05), and improved technological infrastructure (χ² = 142.58, p < 0.05) significantly contribute to better quality of life and economic opportunities. Based on these findings, the study recommends that policy makers adopt a multidimensional strategy that integrates improvements in social, political, environmental, and technological infrastructures to effectively mitigate developmental challenges and promote sustainable growth in Oredo LGA.

Abstract
This study investigates the role of social workers in organizations, focusing on their functions, contributions to employee welfare and productivity, as well as the challenges they encounter in organizational settings. The research employed a descriptive survey design, which was considered appropriate for obtaining the perceptions, attitudes, and experiences of employees and management staff regarding the relevance of social workers in workplace environments. The design enabled the collection of first-hand data from a sizeable group of respondents without manipulating variables, thereby ensuring that the findings reflected the realities of organizational life. The population of the study consisted of 200 employees and management staff drawn from selected organizations, including corporate bodies, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and non-governmental organizations. A stratified random sampling technique was used to select a representative sample of 100 respondents, ensuring fair inclusion of both management and non-management staff. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire divided into three sections, which covered demographic details, functions of social workers, and their contributions and challenges. A four-point Likert scale was used to measure responses, facilitating clear interpretation of the data. To ensure validity, the instrument was reviewed by experts in social work and research methodology, while reliability was established using the test-retest method with Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient (PPMCC). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequencies, percentages, and mean scores, with results presented in tables for easy interpretation. Ethical standards, including informed consent, confidentiality, and organizational permission, were strictly adhered to throughout the study. The findings highlight that social workers play a crucial role in promoting employee welfare, enhancing productivity, and mediating organizational conflicts. However, challenges such as lack of institutional recognition, limited resources, and organizational constraints affect their efficiency. The study concludes that organizations that integrate social workers into their systems are better positioned to address employee need holistically, improve workplace relations, and foster overall organizational growth.

Abstract
It is near impossible, for any country to witness significant growth in its economy without a well-developed and dynamic industrial sector. The mainstay on industrial development aspects of government spending in modern structures of economic development derives from the fact that industrial sector is the vehicle or channel for sustained growth in the long run due to the fact that industrial sector brings about a structural transformation of the economy. The overall objective of this study is to examine the role of the industrial sector in the development of the Nigerian economy. The variables considered are the ratio of private sector credit to GDP, a proxy for financial growth, as the dependent variable while real GDP per capita, a proxy for
GDP, industrial output, a proxy for industrial growth and investment as the independent variables for the study. Augmented Dickey-fuller (ADF) test was used for the unit root test and the variables were found to be stationary at second difference. Then Johansen (1988) technique was used to establish if the stationary variables are co-integrated. Further, ECMis employed to correct any form of disequilibrium in the short run. The result of stationarity and normality test reveals that the model is fairly well specified and could be used for policy analysis. The analysis was based on data extracted from Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) statistical bulletin and World Development
Indicators (WDI). The result of the analysis shows that all the variables were statistically significant at 5%. The results reveal that there is, overall, a positive relationship between financial growth and industrial growth. The study therefore suggest that the government should adopt policies capable of stimulating industrial activities which will ensure sustainable financial growth.

Abstract
Trade plays a vital role in driving economic growth by facilitating the exchange of goods, services, and ideas between countries .Increased trade can lead to increased efficiency and productivity, as firms are able to access a wider range of inputs and market, which can drive economic growth. Trade can also lead to increased competitiveness and a more diversified economy, which can further contribute to economic growth. However, it is important to note that the relationship between trade and economic growth is complex, and there are many other factors that can impact economic growth, such as infrastructure, education, and political stability. Trade can also have negative effectson economic growth, particularly if it leads to the displacement of domestic industries and job losses. Therefore, it is important to carefully consider the potential costs and benefits of trade policies and implement strategies to mitigate any negative impacts

Abstract
Divorce, a phenomenon that has become increasingly prevalent in many societies, has far-reaching implications, especially on the lives of children. This study investigates the implications of divorce on children in the Obe Community, located in Benin City, Edo State. The research focuses on understanding how parental separation affects children’s psychological, emotional, social, and educational development. Using a qualitative and descriptive methodology, data were collected through interviews, focus group discussions, and questionnaires administered to divorced parents, children from divorced homes, teachers, and community leaders. The findings reveal that divorce significantly disrupts the emotional stability of children in Obe Community, leading to feelings of abandonment, insecurity, and low self-esteem. Many children experience difficulty adjusting to new family structures, such as living with a single parent or a step-parent. Educationally, children from divorced homes were observed to perform less favorably in school due to divided attention, lack of parental guidance, and emotional distress. Socially, these children often exhibit behavioral issues such as aggression, withdrawal, or involvement in delinquent activities, stemming from the absence of a balanced parental model and inadequate supervision. The study further highlights the cultural and economic factors in Obe Community that exacerbate the negative effects of divorce. In many cases, single- parent households struggle financially, affecting the children’s access to quality education, healthcare, and other basic needs. Additionally, societal stigma and communal perceptions of broken homes contribute to the isolation and discrimination faced by children of divorced parents, thereby hindering their social integration and personal development.
