Abstract
A textile studio is the major place of textile production because it is where the works of art are being done. The lack of ventilated working environment has made the construction of a studio very necessary for students comfortability in learning and creating awareness of how studio should be constructed, arranged, use and maintained; moreover, an ideal studio should have a dye pit and a good bathroom for students to take quick wash from dirts and stains caused during the course of working. This research will provide a lasting remedy to the problem of insufficient working space, the project has revealed that some basic studio equipment’s and tools could be put in place for students use since there is enough space to accommodate the aforesaid. Consequently, having identified the problem of working space in the textile studio of the university of Benin, This research is aimed at completing the construction of the new textile studio which was not completed during the 2017/2018 session in order to further improve Textile Students skills and artistic prowess and aesthetic values in textile production

This project topic has been a recurring theme in various art forms/styles, yet its impact in the society has been limited. Various artist has attempted to tackle this issue through their work, using powerful imagery and symbolism to convey the devastating effect of corruption on the country’s development. Nevertheless, despite these efforts, the cycle of corruption and economic stagnation remains unbroken, and the desired change has not been achieved to its fullest. USING COLOURS AND STYLES TO EXPRESS SPECIFIC EMOTION

In Using Colours and Style to Express Specific Emotions, the research explores how fashion designers can utilize colour and style to create specific emotions in fashion design. The research is based on colour psychology theories and enclothed cognition, expanding from a theoretical understanding towards a practice-led approach where a framework for fashion design was established. In using a practice-led approach, the research project ended with the creation of a four-piece fashion collection for women encapsulating the basic emotions of mankind: anger, fear, surprise, and grief. The research project explores how specific colours, fabrics, and shapes can be used to convey specific emotions from an abstract point in fashion design to more concrete clothing. The ability to apply these concepts in practice shows how abstract psychology emotions can be successfully communicated in a way where colour and fashion can be combined with a specific intention to create more emotional garments in fashion design

INTERDEPENDENCE AND BIOLOGICAL INTERACTION OF SPECIES AS ALLIES-A CALL FOR IMPROVED COHABITATION

Abstract
The interdependence and biological interaction of species as allies-a call for improved cohabitation (symbiosis) is an attempt to effect closer attention of the relationship whish exists between species such as man, plants and animals. It emphasises the interrelative roles of species for the sustenance of each other, against actions that would lead to a collective suffering and threat of possible extinction for the community. In our world today, we are plagued with increasing need for extension of habitation prompted by the advent of the new medicine "technology" which fires up the unsatisfied tastes of man, wanting artificial comfort at all costs, hereby displacing his neighbour species from their own natural breeding environment. And to this effect, nature, being the victims of devaluation turns hostile towards man, dividing the world by two 'the predator and the prey'. "Allies" is a term which seeks to align (or realign) species to a more natural and safer life of cohabitation, seeking respect for individual habitation to promote general thriving of the elements of nature. This objectives is achieved in the exploration of acrylic colours on a canvas measuring 5 x 6 feet to depict the idea as a practice-based research methodology. The painting featured the primates of life, man and ape, at various ends of their distinct breeding environment, sharing a common tree branch stemming from the wig of matter nature was a successful and laudable result that nature have regained alignment and is safely cohabited.

The pursuance and attainment of knowledge, which is an essential aspect of living is more
effectual when carried out under a comfortable and suitable environment. A studio being the
private workshop of an artist, when lacking the needed facilities and apparatus of learning, could
generally impede creativity and artistry.
This project was carried out by the 400 level 2020/2021 graduating students in the Textile
Section in the Department of Fine and Applied Art in the University of Benin. This was
embarked upon basically to tackle the problems of inadequate working facilities such as furniture
and electrical fittings in the textile studio.
It is a communal effort geared towards actualizing and leaving a legacy for the University which
has been noted for training artists for decades and it is expected that the final outcome will help
engage and explore present and future students’ creative abilities and potentials

CRAFTING OF STUDIO WORKSHOP FOR GRAPHIC DESIGN AND COMMUNICATION SECTION

The Graphic Design Studio is a standard workspace where all digital works are carried out effectively. However, this report shows that, unlike the Graphic Design Studio, a graphics workshop is very important for executing all manual jobs without causing chaos in the space. A personal study has shown that the Graphic Design studios were not configured for manual
jobs hence the need for a studio workshop. Therefore, the practical project aims to craft a Workshop studio in the Graphic Design Section of the Fine and Art Department, University of Benin. It is on this premise, therefore, that the 2022/2023 graphic design section students decided to take up the challenge of crafting a workshop studio to proffer a solution to the
issues of insufficient space, lack of appropriate tools, undermined creativity, inefficiency in carrying out practical works and procrastination of assignments. Through the crafting of a conducive and spacious workshop, all kinds of practical works can be done, ranging from of cutting of stencils to splashing of colors, dabbing of inks, framing of artworks, and so on. With the provision of workshop materials such as metal stools, wooden tables, metal tables, drawing tables, ceiling fans, electrical fittings, light box, metal windows, reinforcements and doors, it is expected that with these facilities put in place, the workshop will inspire present and future Graphic Design students to express and explore their inner creativity.

LOCAL SOURCING AND UTILIZATION OF FLINT, BORAX, KAOLIN AND OTHER SUITABLE GLAZE RAW MATERIALS IN EDO STATE FOR LOW MELTING GLAZE

This study investigates the feasibility of utilizing locally sourced flint, borax, kaolin and other suitable glaze raw materials in Edo State for the production of low-melting glazes. Consequently, sourcing and utilization of glaze suitable raw materials for formulation of low melting glaze at studio level has been problematic despite the significant role of glaze in ceramic production, scarcity and development of local glaze for use including dependance on imported glaze raw materials for glaze formulation have created the inability to glaze ceramic products in the ceramic unit of the Department of Fine and Applied Arts in the University of Benin. Effort was made with this study to bridge the foregoing goal by identifying and sourcing flint, borax, kaolin and other suitable glaze raw materials locally to formulate low melting glaze of 1050°c. The raw materials were characterized and formulated into glaze compositions. The glazes compositions were then applied to ceramic test tiles and were fired to different temperatures. The results show that the locally sourced raw materials can be used to produce low-melting glazes with desirable properties. The study demonstrates the potential for local sourcing and utilization of raw materials in Edo State, promoting Economic Development, Sustainability, and Innovation in the ceramic industries in Nigeria.
