Abstract
The study investigated the influence of principals' leadership styles on teachers' job performance in public senior secondary schools in Edo State. The population of the study covered the twenty-eight (28) public senior secondary schools in Ovia North East local government area of Edo state. Also, the study took into consideration the three hundred and thirty six (336) teachers in the same local government area. The sample size of seventy (70) teachers was selected using the simple random sampling technique. The study was based on McGregor's X and Y theories. The researcher constructed a questionnaire that was used to obtain responses from the respondents. The reliability of the instrument was ascertained through test-retest procedure to be 0.87 coefficient using Pearson's Product moment correlation coefficient. Data collected were analyzed using the mean ratings. The results of the analysis show that only the principals' democratic leadership style had a positive influence on teachers' job performance while the laissez-faire leadership style and the autocratic leadership style had a negative influence on teachers' job performance. xi It was concluded that though there are three leadership styles available to school principals, only the democratic leadership style positively influenced teachers' job performance in Ovia North East local government area of Edo state. The laissez-faire and autocratic leadership styles negatively influenced teachers’ job performance in the same local government area. This implies that the democratic leadership style is preferred by teachers and it should be adopted by principals in order to improve teachers’ job performance. Therefore, leadership styles are important for teachers’ job performance. Consequently, the researcher recommended among other things, that principals must take cognizance of their behavioural patterns and styles of leadership in order to enhance teachers' job performance. This research study examined the influence of principal-teachers’ relationship on teachers’ effectiveness in Public Secondary Schools in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. Three (3) research questions were raised and answered. The research design employed is the survey descriptive design. The population of the study comprises of fourteen(14) principals and 282 teachers from the fourteen(14) public secondary schools In Egor Local Government Area of Edo state. The sample consist seven(7) principal and two eighty four (84) teachers which constitute 50% randomly selected from the population. A structured questionnaire was used in collecting data. The instrument was validated and the reliability of the instrument was determined using the Test Re-Test statistical tool. The reliability coefficient obtained was 3.02. The data collected were analysed using a descriptive statistics such as mean (x). the findings revealed that there is high relationship between principal-teachers relationship and teachers effectiveness in Ego Local Government Area Of Edo State. Based on the findings it was recommended that school principals should adopt a combination of democratic and participative leadership style in administering the schools

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE AND TEACHERS’ JOB PERFORMANCE IN PUBLIC SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN EDO STATE

Abstract
The study is on the relationship between teachers’ conditions of service and their job performance in public secondary schools in Ovia Northeast Local Government Area. The major purpose of the study is to find out the condition of service for enhancing the performance of teachers in secondary schools. Three research questions and four hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. Correlational research design was adopted by the study. The population comprised of twenty-eight (28) principals and all the 1839 (1,111 comprised males and 728 females) teachers in the twenty-eight (28) public secondary schools in Ovia Northeast Local Government Area in the 2019/2020 academic session. The multistage sampling technique was adopted by the study to select a sample of fourteen (14) principals and public secondary schools, representing 50% of the total population to make up the sample for the study. Two research instruments were used for data collection. The first was a structured questionnaire titled “Conditions of Service) which was administered to the teachers in the selected schools to rate their principals. Questionnaire (COSQ) and the second was a “Teachers’ Job Performances Checklist (CPSRQ). The instrument for data collection was validated by the researcher’s supervisor and two other experts in the Department of Educational Management, University of Benin, Benin city. In order to establish the reliability of the instrument, Cronbach Alpha statistics was adopted for the study. The instrument were administered once to twenty (20) teachers and twenty (20) principals, their responses were scored and analyzed using Cronbach’s Alpha formula and the alpha value obtained are 0.87 and 0.63 for principals and teachers respectively. Therefore, the instrument for the study was reliable. Data collected were analyzed with descriptive statistics such mean, standard deviation and Fisher The findings of the study revealed that teachers conditions of service in public secondary schools in Ovia North East was poor, Teachers’ job performance in public secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area was high, there was no significant difference in the relationship between conditions of service and teachers ' job performance. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended among others:
The teachers in public secondary schools should consistently be motivated to enhance and sustain their level of job performance. This can be done through provision of well -equipped classrooms, staff-rooms, and regular payments of their fringe benefits, Salary of teachers should be paid promptly to enable them concentrate on their job for effective delivery.
The government and school management should ensure regular promotion of teachers promptly to mention but a few.

The study investigated class size and students’ academic performance in public senior secondary school in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. To guide the study, four research question were raised, two of them were answered while one (1) was turned into hypothesis and tested at 0.05 level of significance. Descriptive survey research design and the correlation research design for the study. The population of study co sisted of five thousand, two hundred and twenty one (5,221) students from twenty eight (28) public senior secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. A sample of 783 students from two public senior secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government of Edo State which is constituted seven point five (7.5%) percent of the total population was purposively selected. Two research instruments were used for this study. The study revealed that the level of student – teacher ratio is high in public senior secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State, the level of students’ academic performance in public senior secondary school was moderate with 57.7%, there is a significant relationship between class size and students’ academic performance in public senior secondary school in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. Based on the findings of this study, the following recommendations were made; government should provide adequate facilities and classes to correspond with the student population, government should employ more trained teachers to cater for the student – teacher ratio in schools and the school management should be encourage to adopt a maximum of 40:1 student – teacher ratio for effective teaching and learning

This study investigates the impact of technology integration on student learning in Economics Education university of Benin, three research questions were raised to guide the study. The study adopts survey research design. The instrument for the data collection was a questionnaire ,the sample for this study was 400 students selected from four departments; HSE, VTE, EECP, EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT.
It was built around the research questions by the researcher and validated by the researcher‘s supervisor. Data collected were analysed using mean and standard deviation. It was concluded that technology plays a transformative role in education, fostering engaging learning experiences, promoting inclusivity, and bridging educational gaps. By addressing factors that
influence technology adoption and ensuring equitable access for all students, technology can significantly enhance learning outcomes and create more equitable educational opportunities
Based on the findings, it was recommended that; Integrate technology into instruction to create interactive learning environments that cater to diverse learning styles and promote active participation. Provide students with training and support to build their confidence and competence in using technology effectively. Ensure equitable access to technology and reliable infrastructure for all students, including those in remote areas, with disabilities, and from lowincome backgrounds

This study examines the demographic characteristics of the Achalla people and their level of political participation. Political participation is a crucial element of democracy, yet factors such as age, education, economic status, and traditional
influences affect the extent to which individuals engage in governance. This study employs a descriptive survey research design, with data collected using the Achalla Political Participation Checklist (APPC) administered to 500 respondents. The results reveal that voting is the most common form of political participation (92.9%), while economic hardship (82.8%), vote-buying (71.7%), and traditional leadership influence (58.6%) hinder full engagement. The study highlights the
need for economic empowerment programs, voter education initiatives, and stronger electoral reforms to enhance democratic participation. It concludes that addressing economic and political barriers will foster greater civic involvement and inclusive governance in Achalla. The study recommends further research on digital political engagement and electoral reforms to improve democratic processes in rural communities.

This study examined the availability and utilization of physical educational facilities on teachers’ effectiveness in public senior secondary schools in Ovia north east local government area of Edo State. To achieve the purpose of the study, five research questions were raised and examined. The study adopted a descriptive survey research using the correlational design. The population of the study comprised 138 principals and 1,476 teachers in 138 public senior secondary schools in seven local government areas in Edo South Senatorial Districts of Edo State. The sample size of the study 16 principals and 147 teachers in public senior secondary schools in seven local government area in Edo South Senatorial Districts of Edo State. The questionnaire was titled
“Availability and Utilization of Physical Educational Facilities on Teachers’ Job Effectiveness” (AUPEFTJE) and the checklist were titled “Availability of Physical Educational Facilities (APEF)”. The questionnaire was used to elicit opinion of the respondents on utilization of physical educational facilities and teachers’ job effectiveness while the checklist was used to determine availability
of physical educational facilities. The findings generally showed that the availability and utilization of physical educational facilities on teachers’ effectiveness in public senior secondary schools in Edo South senatorial district is low. The major findings of
the study were as follows: Based on the findings of the study, it was concluded that the availability and utilization of physical educational facilities on teachers’ effectiveness in public senior secondary schools is low. Therefore, the low availability and utilization of physical educational facilities contributed negatively to teachers’ effectiveness. This simply means that, for teachers to
discharge knowledge and carryout duties and responsibilities assigned to them effectively, there must be availability and utilization of physical educational facilities. Based on the findings of the study, the following recommendati ns were made that there should be collaboration between Government and non- governmental agencies for the purchase of various physical educational facilities in order to foster effective management performance of teachers, Government should ensure that funds are made available for the purchase of physical educational facilities and also ensure that male and female teachers utilize these facilities for optimum job performance.

The study examined The Availability of teachers' and students' academic Performance in junior secondary schools in Oredo Local
Government Area of Edo State. To guide this study six(6) research questions were raised and two (2) hypothesis were formulated. The population of the study consist of the thirteen (13) public secondary school students' in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State with a total of three hundred and thirty nine (339) teachers. The sample of the study was 68 teachers from (2) public junior secondary schools in the Local Government. The research instrument used to collect data for the study was a checklist. The validity of instrument was ascertained by the researcher’s supervisor and the check list was analyzed using simple percentage, and chi- Square statistics. The findings revealed that qualifications of teachers in Junior secondary schools is above NCE qualification which showed that majority of teachers in the junior public secondary schools are qualified. Also this study revealed that majority of the students in the junior Secondary schools in Oredo local government area have pass in both mathematics and English
language this indicated that the level of academic performance in the junior Secondary schools in Oredo local government area is high. Based on these findings, the researcher recommends that principals should ensure that potentials of the teachers are well harnessed and utilized to reflect the true picture of their quality in the academic performance of students, Students must also ensure they continue to be hard working to improve on their performance in the school in order to secure a bright future for themselves.
