Abstract
Road traffic noise is a harmful environmental pollutant that affects public health. Reducing the tire pavement noise by appropriate design of a durable pavement may reduce the road traffic, case study shows result shows that reducing the nominal aggregate size (NMAS) from 19.0mm to smaller value had a noticeable impact on the perceived noise from car traffic, the incorporation of seashell in OGAC (open graded asphalt concrete) can reduce the tire pavement noise by low frequencies. It has been observed also that rigid pavement makes more noise than flexible pavement.

Abstract
This study examines the phenomenon of code switching and code mixing in the Mbe language, spoken in Nigeria. Through a sociolinguistic analysis of natural conversations, this research investigates the frequency, functions, and motivations of code switching and code mixing between Mbe and English. The findings reveal that code switching and code mixing are common strategies used by Mbe speakers to communicate effectively, express cultural identity, and navigate multiple languages ineveryday interactions. The study highlights the importance of considering language contact and variation in language policy andplanning efforts, particularly in multilingual settings like Nigeria. Theresearch contributes to our understanding of linguistic diversity andcultural heritage, and provides insights for language documentation, language teaching, and language resource development.

Abstract
The broad objective of this study is to examine the impact of board attributes on tax aggressiveness in Nigeria. The data were obtained from the annual reports of individual DMBs submitted to Nigerian Stock Exchange. Therefore, the data needed was extracted from the audited financial reports of the selected firms within the periods of five years. There is a positive and significant relationship between board size and tax aggressiveness. There is a positive and insignificant relationship between board diversity and tax. There is a negative and significant relationship between ownership concentration and tax aggressiveness. There is a negative and insignificant relationship between managerial ownership and tax aggres siveness and there is a negative and significant relationship between foreign ownership and tax aggressiveness. The board of directors of corporate organizations in Nigeria should restructure the board in terms of diversity. We recommend this will ensure there is adequate mix of directors consisting of female
and male, nationality mix, size, educational qualification professional training to possibly influence the operation performance, including tax expense reduction.

Abstract
The multipurpose pounding machine was designed with the aim of increasing the range of food that can be processed by the traditional pounding machines while making it compact enough to fit within standard kitchen spaces and portable enough to be moved around easily. It was designed to perform the cooking and pounding of yam, fufu, amala, wheat and yam flour (poundo). The machine was fabricated using stainless steel, mild steel, Bolts and nuts, Screws. The Components of the machine are the beater, the pounding bowl, the steaming pot, the shaft, the heating element, electric motor, contactor, and temperature contoller. After fabrication, the machine was able to cook the various food via the heating element which has a rating of 700watts and pound with the help of an electric motor having a rating of 12v, 500watts that transmits power (via rotary motion) through the shaft to the beaters. The result from the testing showed that the pounding machine produced hygienic products with acceptable texture and consistency. This makes the machine a good home appliance for safe and effective for making pounded yam and other types of swallow.

Abstract
This study focuses on sustaining the voltage generated by an induction motor, crucial for the efficient and reliable operation of induction generators. The objectives include a literature review to understand voltage collapse factors, developing an experimental MATLAB setup for simulations, data collection on voltage behavior under varying loads, and proposing strategies for sustained voltage. Simulation results show a consistent voltage decrease with increasing load, indicating operational limitations. Current flow increases with load, nearing operational limits at higher loads. Voltage stability challenges are evident, particularly at 300 kW, 600kW, and 2500 kW loads, suggesting a need for improved voltage regulation. Capacitors play a crucial role in stabilizing voltage, with higher values showing more significant stabilization effects. The relationship between capacitors and current flow is nuanced, with higher capacitor values potentially leading to slightly lower current values. Capacitors demonstrate varying effects on each phase, highlighting the complexity of their interaction with the electrical system. The study concludes that proper load management, voltage monitoring, and capacitor selection are essential for stable voltage levels. Recommendations include implementing effective load management, selecting appropriate capacitor values, installing voltage monitoring systems and regulation devices, conducting regular maintenance and inspection, and providing training to operators and maintenance personnel. Continuous research and development efforts are also recommended to enhance induction generator efficiency and reliability in voltage regulation and stability

Abstract
The study examined on the level of engagement in digital technology among the students of university of Benin. Survey method was adopted and the instrument used for data collection was the questionnaire. Using the Taro Yamane formula, 398 people were sampled from the population of 77,000 in the University of Benin City being a Federal University in Edo State, this is a statistical figure of 2023 population census during the cause of this survey. 398questionnaires were distributed among the University of Benin undergraduates and in all, 376were retrieved. Data collected was analyzed in tables and simple percentages. Digital
technologies play an important role in the in the day to day activities of the University of Benin undergraduates. In Nigeria, the use of digital technology for academic purpose startedin1932with simple British teaching aids being used to help with instruction within the country. With time, the use of digital technology for academic purposes by students became rampant around the corners and crannies of the country, which has made educational activities, interactions, and communication easier and faster. However, it is important to measure how often students engage in the use of Digital Technology and how it has impacted in them positively in order to promote and utilize the use of digital technologies in the academic activities of the undergraduate students in the University of Benin. This study assessed the knowledge, perceptions and use of digital technology among the University of Benin undergraduates. The findings affirm that the University of Benin undergraduates are highly knowledgeable about
digital technologies and engage in the use of those digital technologies to achieve their academic success. Using digital technology to achieve academic purposes have become imperative.

Abstract
The study examined the role of adult education in promoting women empowerment in Oredo local government area of Edo state. However, four research questions were raised to guide the study which includes; 1. What are the adult education programmes existing in Oredo local government area of Edostate? 2. How does the adult education programme in Oredo local government promote women empowerment? 3. What are the challenges faced by women in access to adult education programme aimed at promoting empowerment? 4. To what extent do community perceptions and cultural factors influence the participation of women in adult education programmes, and how these factors affect the outcomes of empowerment initiatives in Oredo L.G.A. The study adopted a survey research design with a sample size of 100 respondents drawn through a simple random sampling technique. A self-structured questionnaire designed with a modified Likert Scale method made up of a-two-point rating scale of Yes or No was however adopted for the study. After the validation of the instrument, it was pilot-tested on a sample of 20 respondents for reliability and the data collected were analysed using descriptive which involved frequency count, simple percentages and mean score. The findings revealed the following: The first research question, which bothers on the existence of adult education programmes in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State revealed that there are several adult education programmes existing in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. As majority of the respondents strongly agreed to this assertion. Secondly, research question 2 revealed how adult education programmes in the Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State promote women empowerment. The findings revealed that a whopping percentage of the respondents strongly agreed that the adult education programmes in Oredo Local Government Area can promote women empowerment. The findings revealed that the perception of the community towards the participation of women in adult education programmes is relatively high and encouraging, as a striking percentage of the respondents strongly agreed to this assertion. Based on the study’s findings, the following recommendations were made: firstly, the government should develop a financial assistance scheme or scholarships, grant or low-interest loans to help women overcome financial constraints and afford participation in adult education programmes secondly, the literacy providers should launch a targeted awareness campaigns to inform potential adult learners about the availability and benefits of adult education programmes, utilizing various channels such as community outreach events, social media, and partnerships with local organizations.
