This study was carried out in order to identify the bioactive compounds with health- promoting benefits present in the dichloromethane extract of the seeds of Azanza garckeana. To characterize diverse bioactive compounds present in the plant, the dichloromethane extract of the seeds of this fruit were subjected to GC-MS analysis. Eighteen (18) bioactive compounds were found in the seeds. According to the result, (Z)-3-(pentadec-8-en-1-yl) phenol had the highest concentration of 69.79% and the longest retention period at 17.987 minutes. This compound was found to have Anti-hyperglycemic and Antioxidant properties. The least component in the seeds extract, pentasiloxane, dodecamethyl, had a concentration of 0.35% and a retention period of 3.430 minutes. Other bioactive compounds present in the dichloromethane extract and their biological activities include; Cyclohexasiloxane, dodecamethyl- (Antibacterial and Antioxidant activities), Cyclododecane (Antimicrobial activity), Cycloheptasiloxane, tetradecamethyl- (Antioxidant and Anti-inflammatory activities), Methyl stearate (Antioxidant activity). LINEARIZED WATER WAVE THEO

Year of Publication

Abstract
Linearized water wave theory is a fundamental concept in fluid dynamics that has been extensively used to study wave propagation in various aquatic environments. Water waves play a crucial role in many engineering and scientific applications, including ocean and coastal engineering, ship hydrodynamics, and offshore engineering. However, the complexity of nonlinear wave dynamics has limited the accuracy of traditional numerical models, emphasizing the need for a simplified yet robust approach. Linearized water wave theory offers a promising solution by assuming small-amplitude waves, enabling the simplification of the governing equations and providing an efficient tool for wave analysis. This project explores the mathematical and physical principles underlying linearized water wave theory and its application in various fields such as oceanography, coastal engineering and naval architecture. The study begins with an overview of the basic equations governing water wave motion including the linearized Euler equation and boundary conditions. The dispersion equation which relates the wave frequency to its wavenumber is derived and analysed to properly understand wave propagation characteristics. In this study, we developed and applied linearized water wave theory to investigate wave propagation in a simplified fluid domain. We also discretized the linearized Navier-Stokes equations and then introduced a wave-like solution to represent the small-amplitude waves. By substituting this solution into the linearized equations, we obtained a set of ordinary differential equations that describe the wave propagation characteristics. Through mathematical analysis and numerical simulations, this study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of linearized water wave theory and its applications in fluid dynamics. The applications of this study are diverse and far-reaching. Our results can be used to improve the design and optimization of various aquatic structures, such as seawalls, breakwaters, and offshore platforms, by providing a better understanding of wave-structure interactions. Additionally, our findings can be applied to enhance the accuracy of wave forecasting models, which are crucial for coastal erosion prediction, ship navigation, and offshore operations. Furthermore, the linearized water wave theory can be extended to study more complex wave phenomena, such as wave-current interactions and wave-induced sediment transport, offering a promising avenue for future research.

Abstract
The study takes a cursory look at the relationship between corporate governance and tax aggressiveness. It specifically examines the relationship between board size, board independence, board size, managerial ownership, institutional ownership, foreign ownership, corporate governance compliance and corporate governance disclosure on tax aggressiveness. The study employed the Ex post facto research design. Data for the study were collected from annual reports of forty-five (45) non- financial firms listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, the scope of this study covers a 10year period ranging from 2010 - 2019. The data collected were analysed using descriptive statistic, correlation and panel data analyses. Following the results, it is revealed that the relationship between board independence, board size and managerial ownership have insignificant negative relationships with tax aggressiveness, board gender diversity and tax aggressiveness is positive and statistically significant while board foreign ownership and institutional ownership is positive and statistically insignificant with tax aggressiveness, it is also revealed that the moderating effect of agency cost on the relationship between corporate governance compliance and tax aggressiveness is positive and significant, and the moderating effect of agency cost on the relationship between corporate governance disclosure and tax aggressiveness is positive and significant.

Abstract

Abstract
The traditional batch process for biogas production has been dominant, but it often leads to inefficiencies and inconsistent gas output. This project aims to address these issues by designing and producing a continuous household biogas digester, which promises a more stable and reliable method for generating renewable energy from organic waste. The development of the digester was guided by the design tree process, starting with feasibility studies and progressing through design specifications, conceptual designs, and detailed design phases. The fabrication involved constructing key components such as the inlet system, a 150-liter
steel digester tank, and the outlet system. Although most planned components were successfully incorporated, some were excluded due to unforeseen challenges.
The digester demonstrated the potential for continuous biogas production, though improvements are needed. The project concluded with recommendations for enhancing system efficiency and exploring alternative materials to reduce production costs, suggesting that with further refinement, this design could become a viable household solution for renewable energy production.
