Abstract
This study investigates the effects of gender dynamics and sexual harassment on students at the University of Benin, with a specific focus on the impact these issues have on academic performance. Gender-related challenges, including sexual harassment, continue to affect university students, influencing their overall educational experiences. A questionnaire-based survey was conducted with 100 students to explore the relationship between gender dynamics, sexual harassment, and academic outcomes. The findings reveal a significant negative correlation, with students who experience sexual harassment or encounter gender-based discrimination showing lower academic performance compared to their peers. The study identifies stress, fear of retaliation, and lack of institutional support as major contributors to the detrimental effects of these issues. Basedo n the findings, the research recommends the establishment of robust counseling services, awareness programs, and stronger institutional policies to address gender-based violence and harassment. Abstract
Home gardens, whether in rural or urban areas, are structurally complex and multifunctional, providing numerous benefits to ecosystems and local communities. This study was carried out to investigate the diversity, ethnobotanical significance, and socio-economic impact of home gardens in Ovia North East Local Government Area, Edo State, Nigeria. The research focused on three communities Ekosodin, Oluku and Ekiadolor, selected for their active gardening practices and
plant diversity. A total of fifteen (15) home gardens, five from each community, were purposively chosen based on species richness and community involvement. Data collection involved field observations, oral interviews, and structured questionnaires administered to gardeners and community elders. Focus group discussions were conducted to gather insights on plant types, gardening practices, and socio-economic benefits. A total of thirty-five (35) plant species were
identified across the communities, with Ekiadolor exhibiting the highest diversity (33 species), followed by Oluku (27 species) and Ekosodin (22 species). Key plant species such as Vernonia amygdalina, Dioscorea spp., Talinum triangulare, Ocimum gratissimum, Solanum lycopersicum and Capsicum annuum were prevalent, indicating the significance of home gardens for food security and traditional medicine. The study revealed that home gardens play a critical role in providing medicinal plants used to treat common ailments, enhancing household nutrition, and
serving as a source of income. Challenges such as pest infestations, poor soil fertility, and water scarcity were highlighted, with recommendations for integrated pest management. This study underscores the importance of home gardens in conserving biodiversity, promoting traditional health practices, and supporting sustainable livelihoods

Abstract
This study examined the relationship between quality customer service and brand perception among commercial bank customers in Benin City, Nigeria. The research focused on four key dimensions of customer service: employee performance, good communication, quick responsiveness, and empathy, assessing their impact on brand perception. A total of 385questionnaires were distributed to customers within the Benin Metropolis, with 380 successfully retrieved and analyzed. The study adopted a quantitative research design, utilizing descriptive statistics and regression analysis to evaluate the data. The findings reveal that employee performance, quick responsiveness, and empathy have a significant positive relationship with brand perception, indicating that ef icient service delivery and customer engagement enhance brand perception. However, good communication does not significantly influence brand perception, suggesting that customers may prioritize service ef iciency and personalized interactions over mere information exchange. Based on these findings, the study recommends that commercial banks invest in employee training programs, enhance service responsiveness through technology-driven solutions, and foster a customer-centric approach emphasizing empathy to improve brand perception. Additionally, banks should focus on optimizing service delivery rather than solely improving communication strategies to strengthen their competitive advantage in the banking sector

A STUDY METHODS OF ESTIMATING THE PARAMENTERS OF AUTOREGEGRSSIVE PROCESS IN TIME SERIES MODELLING

Year of Publication

Abstract
This research undertakes a comprehensive statistical analysis of Nigeria's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) spanning a decade, with a focus on estimating Autoregressive (AR) models using two prominent statistical methods: the Yule-Walker method and the Least Squares method. The study aims to provide statistical insights into the underlying dynamics of Nigeria's economic performance during this period. The research commences by delineating the statistical framework of ARmodels, which offer a statistical representation of a time series based on its past values. Subsequently, the Yule-Walker method is introduced, a statistical technique leveraging autocorrelation functions to estimate AR model parameters. The statistical properties of Yule-Walker estimators are elucidated in the context of Nigeria's GDP data. In contrast, the Least Squares method is presented as an alternative statistical approach, characterized by its objective to minimize the sum of squared prediction errors. A statistical framework for the least squares estimators is outlined, providing insights into the statistical properties of parameter estimates and their significance in explaining variations in Nigeria's GDP. The core of the research involves the statistical analysis of Nigeria's GDP time series data over the 10-year period. Both the Yule-Walker and Least Squares methods are applied to estimate AR models tailored to the GDP data. The statistical comparison is based on goodness-of-fit statistics, such as the Akaike Information Criterion (AIC), to evaluate the models' adequacy in capturing the statistical patterns within the GDP dataset.

Abstract
This study investigated the impact of factors of leadership style on the engagement of non- academic staf at the University of Benin yielded. The study targeted a sample of fifty-two(52) respondents, in which a total of 52 questionnaires were distributed and a total of fifty (50) questionnaires was filled, retrieved, cleaned and used for this study. The data collected was analyzed using SPSS version 20.0 and descriptive statistics was used to present the results while regression test was employed to make findings on the research hypotheses. Notably, while economic factors and intended goals both showed a positive correlation with employee engagement, their ef ects were found to be statistically insignificant. In contrast, leaders' communication skills and emotional intelligence emerged as significant drivers of employee engagement. Based on these findings, the following recommendation were made that: the institution’s management should prioritize leadership training on soft skills as doing so would bolster leaders' ability to communicate ef ectively and enhance their emotional understanding and empathy; incentive structures should be redefined by considering a mix of non-tangiblebenefits that might cater to emotional and interpersonal aspects of job satisfaction and engagement; clear and collaborative goals should be set; open communication channels should be fostered in institution; the institution should implement emotional intelligence assessments which can inform recruitment decisions, highlight areas for improvement, and guide personalized training and development interventions; and adoption of continuous feedback loop.

Abstract
Radiology request forms (RRFs) are crucial tools that facilitate communication between referring clinicians and radiology departments, ensuring appropriate and justified imaging studies. When these forms are poorly completed, it can lead to diagnostic mistakes, treatment delays, unnecessary radiation exposure, and increased healthcare costs. This study evaluated how thoroughly referring physicians completed RRFs at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) and RayTouch Diagnostic Center in Benin City. A retrospective review of 1,600 forms submitted from June to November 2024 assessed key elements such as patient data, clinical background, requested imaging, and physician information. Completion rates were generally high—83.2% for patient identification, 94.2% for clinical history, 95.2%forimaging requests, and 94.9% for physician details—with UBTH performing better overall. Nevertheless, notable gaps, especially inpatient identification, were observed. Survey responses from21healthcare professionals revealed that incomplete forms often led to repeated tests, diagnostic errors, and operational inefficiencies. A statistically significant difference (p < 0.05) was observed between the two facilities. These results highlight the importance of implementing electronic RRF systems, ongoing training for clinicians, and institutional policies to improve documentation. Such measures could enhance diagnostic precision, reduce unnecessary procedures, and improve patient safety.
