The primary objective of this study was to explore how Information and Communication Technology (ICT) affects quality management in Nigeria's higher education institutions. The research focused on specific indices of Quality Management and ICT, detailed in Appendices IV and V. Two research questions were formulated and addressed directly. Employing a survey research design, the study targeted a population of 3,000 respondents from higher education institutions in Akwa Ibom State, as outlined in Chapter Three. Discrete Sampling Techniques were applied, with a sample size of 3,000. The study utilized a variety of methods, including surveys, structured oral interviews, brainstorming sessions, and panel discussions, to assess the impact of ICT on quality management in these institutions. The oral interview questions were validated by three experts, and their feedback was used to finalize the instrument presented in Appendix IV. Data collection was managed by twelve well-briefed research assistants.

This study examined analysis of the level of parents involvement on students’ academics in public secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, four research questions were raised . The population of this study consist of the twenty-eight (28) public secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State with a total of 5973 (JS2) students. The instrument for this research was a structured questionnaire titled “Level of Parents Involvement Questionnaire (LPIQ), The instrument was validated by the supervisor. Data collected for research question were analyzed using mean and standard deviation The findings from the research questions showed that there is a high level of parents involvement in students academics, examination, course work and co-curricular activities in public secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government of Edo State. Based on the findings it was recommended that parents who are not involved in their children education should be constantly sensitized while those who are involved should be encouraged to continue doing so.

This study investigated school facilities maintenance and principals' administrative effectiveness in public secondary schools in Edo State. Nine research questions were raised and seven hypotheses were formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. The design of the study was descriptive survey based on correlational method. The population of the study constituted the 308 principals in the 308 public secondary schools and 495 teachers who served as respondents in the three senatorial districts of Edo State. The sample size of the study was 64 principals in the 64 public secondary schools in the three senatorial districts of Edo State, constituting 20% of the population. Eight teachers per sampled school were purposefully selected to serve as respondents. The proportional random sampling technique, using the multi stage sampling procedure was used for the selection. Two validated research instruments titled “School Facilities Maintenance Questionnaire” (SFMQ) and “Principals’ Administrative Effectiveness Questionnaire” (PAEQ) with a reliability coefficient of 0.88 and 0.74 respectively were used for the study. The Mean and Standard Deviation, Pearson r and Fisher’s Z statistics were used to analyze the data. Findings from the study revealed that the level of facilities maintenance and principals’ administrative effectiveness in public secondary schools in Edo State was low. The study also revealed a significant relationship between school facilities maintenance and principals’ administrative effectiveness in public secondary schools in Edo State. The sex and experience of the principals were also found to be significant, in that male principals and more experienced principals carried out maintenance practices than female and less experienced principals. However, there was no significant relationship between facilities maintenance and principals.

This study investigates the influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on library services, focusing specifically on academic libraries. With the rapid advancement of technology, libraries are increasingly adopting AI tools to improve their operations and enhance the user experience. The research centers on the John Harris Library at the University of Benin, exploring the current state and extent of AI integration in its services. AI technologies, such as machine learning, natural language processing, and data analytics, are transforming traditional library functions by automating routine tasks like cataloging and organizing resources. This allows librarians to focus on more complex intellectual work. Additionally, AI enables personalized services through analyzing user behavior and preferences, improving information retrieval and recommendations. The study also highlights AI’s role in digitizing and preserving rare and fragile materials, thus safeguarding cultural heritage for future generations. However, alongside these benefits, the research addresses important challenges including data privacy concerns, ethical implications, potential job displacement among library staff, and the need for ongoing professional training. The findings emphasize the necessity of responsible AI adoption to balance technological progress with ethical responsibilities, ensuring that library services remain effective, inclusive, and trustworthy. This study contributes valuable insights for library professionals, academic institutions, and policymakers aiming to harness AI’s potential while managing its risks within the library setting

This study investigated the awareness and use of electronic information resources at Delta State University, Abraka, Delta State, Nigeria. A descriptive survey research design was adopted, with data collected from 385 respondents comprising undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and academic staff through structured questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings revealed that 77.40% of respondents were aware of electronic information resources, while 68.57% actually used them. Electronic books and journals had the highest awareness and usage rates. Infrastructure challenges, particularly poor internet connectivity, frequent power outages, and insufficient computer facilities, emerged as major barriers. More than half of respondents had not received training on electronic resources. Hypothesis testing confirmed significant relationships between awareness and usage, and between training frequency and awareness levels. The study recommended improving internet infrastructure, implementing comprehensive training programmes, strengthening multi-channel awareness strategies, and enhancing collaboration with academic staff to promote optimal utilization of electronic information resources.

The study examined classroom management challenges encountered by student-teachers during teaching practice exercise in secondary schools in Edo State. Four research questions guided the study. The descriptive survey design was adopted, a sample of 160 students were randomly selected from a population of 800 in the Faculty of Education, University of Benin. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire titled Classroom Management Challenges for Student-Teachers (CMCQST), analysis was done using mean and standard deviation. The findings revealed that student-teachers experience different classroom management challenges such as student indiscipline, lack of engagement, and difficulties in managing large class sizes. Prevalent types of challenges included time management issues, short student attention spans, disruptive behaviour, and difficulties in addressing diverse learning needs. The study also showed that mentor teachers and university supervisors play a significant role in mitigating these difficulties by providing practical advice and constructive feedback. Furthermore, student-teachers coped with classroom management problems by employing strategies such as reinforcement, adjusting lesson plans, seeking advice, and varying instructional activities
