Abstract
Phyllanthus amarus(UBH-P406) is a small annual plant widely used in traditional medicine in many parts of the world. It's been investigated for various potential health benefits, including antiviral, hepatoprotective, and anticancer properties. Piper guineense(UBH-P351) which is commonly known as Ashanti pepper or West African black pepper, is a West African spice with a
pungent flavor. It contains various bioactive compounds, including alkaloids and amides. Some studies suggest that Piper guineense may have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer properties.DMH (1,2-dimethylhydrazine): DMH is a chemical compound that is a potent colon carcinogen, commonly used in experimental studies to induce colon cancer in laboratory animals. It undergoes metabolic activation in the body, leading to the formation of reactive metabolites that can damage DNA and promote tumor development in the colon. The aim and objective of this study is to evaluate the therapeutic effects of aqueous extract of Phyllanthus amarus leaves mixed with Piper guineense leaves on 1,2 Dimethylhydrazine-induced colon cancer in Swiss Albino rat. In this present study, the body weight of the animals weighed from 150g-256g. The Rats were then separated into groups of 3 with 6 animals in each group, marked at different positions for easy identification of the rats and placed into plastic cages which had granular cellulose bedding. The rats were fed with growers' mash in regular pellets, they were also given tap water with constant light. Randomization was used with graphpad.com in respect to ARRIVE guideline. The groups the rats were divided into group 1 (control group), Group 2(20mg/kg of DMH bwt P. amarus and P. guinnense) Group 3(20mg/kg of DMH only). In the Liver, AST and ALT, control and DMH + P. amarus and P. guinnense were significantly different when compared to that of DMH only. In Kidney, Urea and Creatinine, control and DMH only were significantly different from DMH + P. amarus and P. guineense group. In electrolyte, Na+, K+, HCO3 and Cl, no significant difference was observed when control was compared to plant treated and DMH only groups. This suggest that aqueous extract + P. amarus and P. guineense have anti-oxidant, anti-cancer, and hepatorenal protective potentials.

Abstract
Carrot (Daucus carota) is one of the most important economical root vegetable crops worldwide and the largest source of provitamin A and carotenoids in the human diet. Storage is a prerequisite for a year-round supply of Carrot, but longer duration can affect its quality. Essential oils also has diverse and relevant biological activities. This study was aimed towards isolating the bacteria associated with rotted carrot, characterizing and isolating three bacteria isolate and determining the antibacterial properties of selected essential oils against the isolates using Agar well diffusion method. Suspected bacteria pathogens were isolated from a diseased carrot tuber, the isolates were identified using biochemical and cultural characterization. Essential oils were used in the antimicrobial sensitivity treatment using agar well diffusion method against the isolated bacteria to determine the antibacterial property of the essential oils. The results showed that Enterobacter sp., Pseudomonas sp. and Agrobacterium tumenfacienwere the isolated pathogenic bacteria from the carrot tubers. The essential oils which are (Neem oil, Tea tree oil and Bergamot oil), showed no antibacterial activity on the isolated bacteria pathogens. Further investigations can be done using essential oils against bacterial isolates but it should be extracted from the plant source to avoid destroying its potential antimicrobial properties.

Abstract
This study focused on isolating and identifying fungal species associated with agricultural farmland soil in UNIBEN. Soil samples were collected in sterile plastic ziplock bags from selected agricultural farmlands in Benin City, Edo State, and were subsequently transported to the laboratory for fungal identification. The identification of fungal isolates was conducted using cultural and morphological methods. The results indicated that total fungal counts of soil samples collected from the selected farmlands ranged from 5.70±0.42 to 12.50±1.56. The highest fungal counts were observed in Farm 2 (12.50±1.56), followed by Farm 5 (8.70±0.71), while Farm 4 exhibited the lowest count at 5.70±0.42. The identified fungal isolates included Aspergillus niger, Trichoderma sp., Penicillium sp., Rhizopus arrhizus, and Mucor mucedo. The percentages of occurrence for these fungal isolates varied from 7.14% to 28.57%. Aspergillus niger had the highest occurrence rate at 28.57%, followed by Trichoderma sp. and Penicillium sp., each at 21.43%, while Rhizopus arrhizus had the lowest occurrence at 7.14%. This study emphasizes the importance of understanding the dynamics of fungal populations within these agricultural soils to inform management strategies aimed at enhancing soil health. By monitoring these microbial communities, farmers at these sites can adopt more effective agronomic practices that capitalize on beneficial fungi while minimizing the impact of pathogenic species.

Abstract
orkplaces have a key role in developing eye disorders, due to the danger of accidents. Bottles holding carbonated beverages are potentially dangerous to the eye. Since beverage bottles may burst with regular handling and without provocation, production rules must be put in place to assist in eliminating defective bottles. The study was aimed at investigating the prevalence of ocular morbidities associated with the brewing company workers. This study employed a prospective cross-sectional study design and was carried out in the Coca-Cola bottling company, Benin City. A total of 90 participants consisting of 65 males (72.2%) and 25 females (27.8%) were enrolled in this study. Majority of the participants were between the ages of 24 and 29 years (28.89%) with a mean ± standard deviation of 31.3 ± 7.58 years. Also, 82.2% of the participants had their education at the tertiary level. Data was collected using questionnaires and eye examination. Descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, pie charts, mean and standard deviation, and chi-square were used to analyze and summarize the data. Findings from the study revealed that pterygium was the most prevalent ocular morbidity among workers in the brewing industry. Allergic conjunctivitis (11.1%), pinguecula (10.0%), presbyopia (5.6%), cornea opacity (2.2%), foreign body (2.2%), cataract (1.1%) and refractive errors (1.11%), were also prevalent. 62.2% of the participants were aware of activities that pose a risk of injury and packaging was found to be a major risk to eye injury among the participants (20.0%). 61.1% of them owned a personal protective eyewear and xi 47.8% of them who owned a personal protective eyewear owned safety goggles. In conclusion, there was no significant relationship between patients’ ocular assessment and their areas of production (p >0.05). Therefore, it is recommended that workers in the production units receive comprehensive training on the advantages of wearing ocular protective eyewear during their work and the potential consequences of failing to do so.

Abstract
One intriguing thing about sculpture is it's ability to bring ideas, imaginations, opinions and philosophies to life in three dimensions; That thoughts can be tangibly seen and felt as much as spoken about. That from materials lying bare on the floor one can create almost life like. The project is a long awaited quiet voice now shouting as an idea incarnated in three dimensions. Having been gifted with skill in the area of sculpture, I have found a visual means to communicating to society that man's mind must develop first for success to happen. This project is inspired by the idea to emphatically look into man’s quest for success, which in other words is tagged "flight" how that the quest for success pushes man to go for more and more understanding. By proof of research it is evident that from the earliest periods man has always wanted dominion which accounts as his success This project is intended to enlighten the public on the need to being resilient in their search for knowledge, because soaring high and being successful doesn’t happen accidentally but by systematic and guided approach to life. This project therefore adopts the exploratory method of data collection. And in material usage it adopts the technique of direct concrete modeling technique in sculpture. This project therefore presents visually, a Nine feet and 6inches sculpture in the round, finished in blue Partina and a touch of gold.
