Abstract
The rapid evolution of digital technologies has transformed how businesses attract, engage, and retain customers, making digital marketing a vital tool for organisational growth. This study examined the relationship between digital marketing practices and the growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Benin City, Nigeria. Specifically, the study investigated the effects of social media marketing, search engine optimisation, email marketing, and content marketing on SME growth. The research adopted a quantitative survey design, with data collected from selected SMEs operating within Benin City. Hypotheses were tested using statistical techniques to determine the significance of the relationships between the identified digital marketing practices and SME growth indicators. The findings revealed a positive and significant relationship between social media marketing and SME growth, as well as between search engine optimisation and SME growth. Similarly, content marketing demonstrated a positive and significant effect on SME growth. In contrast, email marketing showed a positive but insignificant relationship with SME growth, suggesting limited effectiveness in the studied context. These findings highlight the importance of leveraging social media, SEO, and content strategies to drive business expansion while recognising the need for improved email marketing adoption and practices. The study concludes that digital marketing practices are critical enablers of SME growth in Benin City, but their impact varies across different strategies. It recommends that SME owners and managers invest in capacity building, technology adoption, and tailored digital strategies to enhance xiv competitiveness. Policy makers are also encouraged to support SMEs with training, digital infrastructure, and enabling policies that foster sustainable growth in the digital economy

Abstract
This study examined the impact of digital payment systems on the growth of small businesses in Benin City, Nigeria. The research specifically focused on three major components of digital payment systems: Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), Point of Sale (POS) terminals, and online banking transactions. The study was motivated by the increasing global shift toward cashless transactions and the limited empirical research on how such technologies influence small business development in emerging economies like Nigeria. A survey research design was adopted, and data were collected from 100 small business owners and managers in Benin City using structured questionnaires. Descriptive and inferential statistical tools, including multiple regression analysis, were employed to analyze the data with the aid of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The findings revealed that ATMs, POS terminals, and online banking transactions have a significant positive impact on small business growth in Benin City. Specifically, ATMs facilitate quick access to cash, POS terminals enhance customer patronage and reduce cash-handling risks, while online banking improves financial management and business efficiency. However, challenges such as network instability, high transaction charges, ATM cash shortages, and cybersecurity concerns were identified as barriers to optimal utilization. The study concluded that digital payment systems play a crucial role in promoting the growth and sustainability of small businesses by improving operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability. It recommends that banks and telecommunication firms enhance network reliability, reduce transaction costs, and strengthen security frameworks. Additionally, financial institutions and government agencies should intensify awareness and provide training to small business owners to ensure wider adoption and effective utilization of digital payment systems.

Other names for it include cybercash, electronic currency, digital money, and digital money. Digital currencies are only available in digital form and lack any tangible characteristics. Digital currency transactions are carried out using computers or electronic wallets linked to the internet or specific networks, unlike physical currencies which have distinct physical qualities and traits, such as banknotes and coins that have been produced. While they do not require physical wallets, digital currencies have their own set of requirements for storage and processing. For example, an Internet connection is necessary as are smartphones and services related to their provisioning. Online wallets with robust security are also necessary to store digital currencies. Their digital provenance makes digital currencies susceptible to hacking. Digital currencies used for trading can have wild price swings
