Abstract
This study was an investigation into the influence of extrinsic motivation on the academic performance of Senior Secondary students in Oredo Local Government Area, Edo State. The study examined the following objectives; the influence of extrinsic motivation on the academic performance of student's, what type of incentives students find most motivating in the teaching-learning process, the extent to which praises and previous academic results can influence academic performance. Operant Conditioning Theory by Skinner (1975) was used in the study. This study states that a behavior become more or less probable, depending on the stimulus that elicits it and its consequence. The study adopted descriptive research design since it allows the researcher to use sample from a given population and make the generalization to the entire population with respect to the problem under study. Primary data was obtained using questionnaires and interview schedule while secondary data was collected from the internets, books and journals. The sampling design utilized was Simple random sampling and Stratified sampling. Data Analysis was done with the use of Statistical Package For Social Sciences (SPSS). Descriptive and inferential statistics which include the use of means, standard deviation, frequencies, percentages, and t-test were utilized respectively

Abstract
This study examined the influence of environmental factors on the academic
performance of students in Ovia North East local government area of Edo State. Three research questions guided this study. The population of the study consists of all secondary school students. Whereas the sample was 100 students. An instrument titled “The Influence of Learning Environment on students' Academic Performance of Secondary School Students Questionnaire" was utilized to elicit information from the respondents. Data was analyzed, percentages were used to find solutions to the research questions. The major findings of the study were (1) Performance is affected by learning
environment (2). Sitting arrangement affect academic performance 3Classroom
size influence students’ academic performance. Recommendations highlighted
were: Government should carry-out regular checks in schools so as to ensure that
all lightings qualify as good lighting, Government should focus on ensuring that
the air quality in classrooms are best, by providing adequate ventilation appliances
such as fans and air conditions, Also the repairs and maintenance of this appliances
should be catered for, There is need for proper provision of electricity in the schools, This would enable the constant use of the lights and ventilation appliances, Government should consider building more schools. This would help curb the problem of overpopulated classrooms and bring about a conducive learning environment, Government should also ensure that all seats and desks in schools are in good conditions, Also teachers should ensure that sitting arrangements are properly done so that students are able to achieve their academic goals.

Abstract
This study is to investigate the ways of sustaining student's interest in Chemistry in Senior Secondary Schools SS one (1) in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. Four research questions were raised in order to carry out this study. Data were collected through questionnaires that were randomly distributed to five schools in the Local Government Area. The techniques used for analysis were the simple frequency, percentage and mean based on a four point Likert scale. The population of the study was 4639 but the sample was 100 students randomly selected. Five (5) schools were randomly selected from the thirteen
(13) Senior Secondary Schools in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. To ascertain the reliability of the instrument, pilot testing was carried out on twenty (20) SS 1 students from a mixed public senior secondary school. Based on the research it was discovered that chemistry teachers stimulate their students’ interest during teaching, secondly, the interest of students in chemistry can be sustained in them, thirdly, the availability and usability of laboratory facilities can sustains student's interest in chemistry, lastly teachers teaching method can be used to sustain student interest in Chemistry. In overall, student's
interest in Chemistry can be sustained by different ways in all public senior secondary schools.

Abstract
This project analyzed the strategies for effective teaching of computer
science in secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area of
Edo State. To carry out this study the following research question were
formulated they are: what are the strategies that enhance the teaching of
Computer studies in secondary schools? What are the problems that
hinder the effective teaching of computer studies in secondary schools?
Does the teaching method used in teaching computer science have an
effect on students learning outcome? How effective is the use of computer
on the teaching and learning of computer science in secondary schools? In
order to ascertain whether the research questions would be accepted or
rejected questionnaire were used to collect data from hundred teachers in
Ovia north-east local Government area of Edo state. Some of the results of this study include that it is evident that teaching
with the aid of instructional material is one of the strategy that influence the
learning and academic performance of student positively. The finding of this
research also showed that the adequate teaching methods of computer
studies cannot be underestimated. Based on careful examination of the analysts and data given in this
study Government should build and establish new facilities for experiment
in Junior Secondary Schools to help facilitate their knowledge, understanding and interest in computer science and Teachers should adopt
the methods of improvisation and use teaching aid during lessons in science
as this would build students imagination and broaden their literacy in computer science
