ACCOUNNTABILITY OF SCHOOL FUNDS USAGE BY SECONDARY SCHOOL PRINCIPALS IN OVIA NORTH EAST LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF EDO STATE.

Abstract
This study focuses on the accountability of school fund usage by secondary school principals in ovia north east local government area of edo state. Five research questions were raised to guide the study. this study adopted the descriptive survey research design. The population of the study was 32 secondary school principals in Ovia North East local government area, of edostate. They were sampled using the random and purposive technique. The instrument used in the study was a questionnaire titled “Accountability of school fund usage by secondary principals in ovia north east local government”. Data obtained from the instrument were analyzed using frequency counts, mean, and standard deviation. Findings from the study revealed that that there is a significant difference in accountability of school fund between male and female principals, that there is a significant difference in accountability of school fund between Christian and Non-Christian principals, that there is a significant difference in accountability of school fund between old and young principals and that there is a significant difference in accountability of school fund between old and young principals in Ovia North East local Government Area of Edo State. Recommendations were made based on
the findings of the study.

Abstract
The purpose of this research work is to examine the extent to which the selected public secondary schools in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State utilize quality and adequate instructional materials in classrooms and how this has promoted the academic performance of students.The aims of the study were to find out the extent to which the selected public secondary
in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State utilize quality and adequate instinct materials and how it had promoted academic performance of students, to explore the views of teachers and students on the extent to which instructional materials affects student’s performance and also the challenges that teachers in public secondary schools face in accessing instructional materials. The study employed survey method with questionnaire as a tool to elicit response from the respondents, from a sample size of one hundred and thirty- eight (138) respondents.The following were findings of the study: first, instructional materials are the key to teachers’ and students’ performance. Secondly, most public secondary schools in Egor local government Area of Edo state suffer shortage of essential teaching and learning materials. Thirdly, the study revealed that teachers used different strategies to minimize the challenges of attaining and using quality instructional materials like borrowing books and improvation.

This research work examined the Nigeria Union of Teacher (NUT) and the Management of Crisis in Education in Secondary Schools in Nigeria using Edo State a case study. The instruments used in the data collected were analyzed by the use of sample percentages and Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPC) and the statistics. A questionnaire named “the impact of the Nigerian Union of Teacher on the Management of Crisis in Education in Secondary Schools in Edo State” was administered on
120 respondents. Hypothesis was tested and it was discovered that the NUT helps in the resolution of management crises in secondary schools. It was recommended that government and its agencies should take Nigerian Union of Teacher into greater confidence to facilitate her contribution to the decision making and policy formulation process in education. Moreso, adequate funds by the government should be disbursed to the Nigeria Union of Teacher (NUT) so as to ensure effectiveness and
