UNIBEN STUDENTS

This study investigated the influence of film genre on Nollywood consumption patterns
among students of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), with the case study being Everybody Loves Jenifa (2024). It examined the impact of film genre on Nollywood
consumption patterns as well as the influence of social and cultural factors on UNIBEN
students’ genre preferences. Drawing on the Uses and Gratifications theory and the Play
theory of Mass Communication, the research also explored how accessibility and availability of Nollywood films affect its consumption and, the appeal of specific genres on UNIBEN students’ Nollywood consumption. Using a survey design, data were collected from a randomly selected sample of 398 students across various faculties and levels of study. Findings revealed that genre plays a huge role in influencing film choice, with comedy emerging as the most preferred genre among respondents due to its entertainment value, cultural relevance, and stress-relieving qualities. Additionally, accessibility via mobile devices and cost-free platforms like YouTube significantly determined viewing habits. Social influence, particularly recommendations and social media trends, also impacted students’ consumption decisions. The study concluded that film genre not only affects individual preferences but also reflects broader cultural and social dynamics within the youth demographic. It recommended that Nollywood filmmakers diversify genre offerings while preserving cultural value to effectively engage younger audiences.

The main focus of this project are to evaluate the popularity of X usage after the ban-ifting in Nigerian: a study of UNIBEN students. Furthermore, the study reviewed the major causes of the X ban in Nigeria, established the negative effect of the X ban on Nigeria's citizens, especially students, determined if twitter still remained popular in Universities after the ban-lifting and examined the extent to which UNIBEN students made use of X after the ban lifting in Nigeria. The researcher adopted the survey design .The survey design was adopted with the aid of 14 item Questionnaire and 100 Respondents of the university of Benin. Data obtained were analyzed and presented with the aid of frequency tables and simple percentage. The result from the study showed that X has gained more popularity among uniben student after the ban was lifted. This study recommended that students should be motivated to share educational resources and engage with peers on X, There should be X policy development among Uniben students and there should be feedback mechanism to understand the student’s opinions and challenges concerning the access to the app.

This study analyses the relationship between the online clearance system (Independent variable) and waiting lines (dependent variable). The study employed the use of the primary data administering questionnaire to correspondents of the first year students in Faculty of Management Sciences. In order to determine the reliability and validity of the result, Method of data analysis covering descriptive statistics and inferential statistics, Measure of Operation and technical analysis. A chi-test was conducted and the interpretation and discussion of results follow.From the chi-test analysis, it could be confirmed that there exists a positive linear relationship between Student’s psychology and manual ways of registering students. The analysis also showed that there is a negative and significant relationship between Student’s psychology and delayed time of waiting. The analysis showed there exists a positive relationship between The Clearance Effectiveness and the Manual ways of registering students. The study recommends the school management should eliminate physical clearance and conduct her clearance online, alongside equipping the clearance officers’ in training that will increase their efficiency and work performance
