Abstract
This research investigated Waste Disposal Practice among Ekosodin residents. The purpose of this study was to determined the waste disposal practice of ekosodin resident. to Determined the age influence of waste disposal practice of ekosodin resident and to Determined the sex influence of waste disposal practice of ekosodin resident.To Determined the educational level influence of
waste disposal practice of ekosodin resident. A descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population comprise of 143 residents who lives in Newton street at Ekosdin. The sampling techniques used for the study was total of (100) students enumeration sampling Technique. A questionnaire was designed and titled Waste Disposal Practice among Ekosodin
residents. A total of 100 copies of questionnaire were administered and 100 copies were duly completed, returned and found useable for this study. The instrument was subjected to face validation by the supervisor. Analyses and discussions of data collected for this study were descriptively done using mean and standard deviation. The findings of the study shows that the Ekosodin residents hardly practice waste disposal, the residents attitude and knowledge
towards waste disposal are low. Majority of them still dump waste on the drainage, rivers and don't disposal toxic substance to the right place. Most of them keep their waste in a bag and
only few follow management method of waste disposal. Recommendations was made which
state that Hence, waste Management should create more awareness of the importance of proper waste disposal through campaign in ekosodin it should be Compulsory and effective
without further delay. Ekosodin community should involve and create dialogue around the proper waste disposal practice. It is also found necessary to change the mindset of the people. Everyone should be open to discussion about the side effects of not disposing waste rightly and help the younger people to understand how to dispose their waste and the importanec of proper
waste Management is. So, for that more education on waste disposal practice has to be taught to everyone. It is also important to form a policy on waste disposal practice in ekosodin residents, Passage of this act would help increase awareness of the potential risks of engaging in the wrong way of waste disposal. All youth would be better equipped to make informed decisions about waste disposal practice in ekosodin.

IMPACT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB ON THE KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDE OF STUDENTS TOWARDS THE PROPER DISPOSAL OF TOXIC WASTE

Abstract
This study was carried out to identify the impact of environmental club on the knowledge and attitude of students towards the proper disposal of toxic waste. Four research questions and two hypotheses were raised and analyzed for the purpose of the study. A random sampling technique was used in selection of forty (40) students which would be drawn from all SS2 and SS3 students in Bravura Crestview Benin City were randomly selected for the study. The data were collected with questionnaire instrument and analyzed using simple percentage. The result revealed that; the knowledge level of SS2 and SS3 students in Bravura Crestview towards toxic waste is relatively high, students in Bravura Crestview are aware of effective mechanisms for toxic waste management, they know about the complications of improper waste management and they worry about toxic waste around their school and home environments, finally, the study revealed that the students had a positive attitude towards toxic waste, as it was obvious that they know that improper toxic waste disposal is a threat to the environment, and they also have a role to minimize the toxic waste. Based on the results, it was recommended that environmental education should be taught as a subject of its own from the UBE level and not infused into other subjects with a view to emphasize its relevance and significance in our contemporary society, educational campaign on toxic waste management is highly recommended. This awareness campaign should be targeted at all actors/ stakeholders by teaching them the mechanisms of toxic waste at the source, introducing alternative proper toxic waste management and also the negative effects of improper toxic waste management, efforts should be intensified to establish environmental protection/ conservation clubs in all schools including public and private, and environmental education should be introduced in teacher training institution (at both NCE and degree levels) to produce qualified personnel to teach environmental education in our schools.

Fire safety is an important phenomenon which should be well understood among very member of the society, especially among teenagers. As a result, many secondary schools now have environmental safety club saddled with the responsibility of creating awareness about fire safety. The project work is aimed at ascertaining the effects of environmental clubs on the knowledge and attitude of secondary school students towards fire safety. The study was conducted in Baptist High School, Benin City among 60
participants. 30 of them were members of environmental safety club (junior secondary school students) and the other 30 students were not members of environmental safety club (senior secondary school students). Questionnaires with responses were presented using tables, while independent sampleT-Test was used to test the hypothesis, with significance level set at 0.05. The findings from the study indicated that students who were members of environmental safety club had better knowledge and attitude towards fire safety than students who were not members of environmental safety club. The study concluded that environmental safety club is a potent means to foster good attitudes and better knowledge about fire safety among secondary school students and recommended that every secondary school should have an environmental safety club.
