Abstract
Fluted pumpkin (Telfairia occidentale Hook. F.) is a tropical plant belongingtotheCucurbitaceae family and holds significant economic value in Nigeria. Despite its highnutritional benefits and importance, there is a lack of information on how salinity impacts thisplant. This study aims to evaluate the effects of salinity on the growth of T. occidentalis. Theresearch was conducted over a four-week period. Seedlings of Telfairia occidentalis were placedin plastic bowls (30 cm in diameter) with drainage holes at the bottom to allowfor free waterdrainage. Two weeks after planting, the seedlings exhibited uniform growth and were movedtothe screen house of the Department of Plant Biology and Biotechnology. The plants wereirrigated with saline water at varying concentrations: 0 (control), 70, 140, and 280 mMNaCl, with three replicates for each treatment. The results indicated that high salinity negativelyaffectsT. occidentalis. The highest leaf length (19.67±1.53 cm) was observed in the 70 mMNaCl treatment, while the lowest leaf count (4.67±8.08) was recorded in week 4 for plants subjectedtothe highest salt concentration (280 mM NaCl). Additionally, the study found that salt stressadversely impacted the content of photosynthetic pigments, leading to a decrease inthechlorophyll content index and overall biomass yield. The findings suggest that T. occidentaliscan thrive in low to moderate salinity levels (70-140 mM NaCl), but its growth is significantlyhindered at high salinity levels

Abstract
This study focused on the photodegradation of cassava wastewater. The potential use of titanium dioxide, periwinkle shell and roof tiles, a sustainable and biodegradable catalyst to adsorb the pollutant from the aqueous solutions was investigated. The catalyst was prepared by calcination and characterised by X-ray fluorescence (XRF), Brunauer-Emmet-Teller (BET), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FTIR) analysis. In this study, we explore the viability of using both activated and unactivated periwinkle shell and roof tiles powder to effectively the contaminants from the cassava wastewater. During the degradation process, the effects of some process variables such as contact time, concentration of the wastewater, and catalyst dose were investigated. The results of batch adsorption study showed that for unmodified and modified catalyst, increasing the catalyst dosage and contact time resulted in increased percentage removal while increasing the concentration lead to a decrease in percentage removal. The optimum conditions for maximum percentage removal for unmodified and modified adsorbent are 3g catalyst dosage, 150 minutes contact time, and 100ml/l concentration of the wastewater. For adsorption Isotherm, Langmuir model was the best model for modified catalyst with a correlation coefficient of r2 ≥ 0.2989 and in comparing the correlation coefficient r2 obtained from the Langmuir and Freundlich model, it clearly shows that the experimental analysis fit Freundlich model with r 2 ≥ 0.8742 for unmodified catalyst. For adsorption kinetics, Pseudo second order reaction showed a better fit (r2 ≥ 0.9999, r2 ≥ 0.9998) than both Langrande pseudo first-order (r2 ≥ 0.9782, r2 ≥ 0.9982) and the intra particle diffusion (r2 ≥ 0.9552, r2 ≥ 0.9494) for the modified and unmodified catalyst.

Abstract
Enantia chlorantha and Nauclea latifolia are plants utilized as traditional medicine in Nigeriaforthe treatment of malaria. Enantia chlorantha is able to confer antiplasmodial activity in vitrodueto the fact that it possesses protoberberine alkaloids and flavonoids. In this experimental research, a hydroethanol extract was obtained from the barks of Enantia chlorantha and Nauclea latifolia. For the antimalarial study, twenty-five male Swiss albino mice weighing an average of 22g, were randomly distributed into 5 groups labelled; group 1; Negative control (NC) which receivednormal saline after infection, group 2; positive control (PC) which had infected micethat received 25 mg/kg chloroquine after infection, group 3 which received 50 mg/kg body weight ofBHE batch 4_A after infection, Group 4 which received 100 mg/kg body weight of BHEbatch4_B after infection and group 5 which received 250 mg/kg body weight of BHE batch 4_Cafterinfection. Treatment was done 3 hours after infection and 3 days thereafter. Smears were madefrom the lateral vein of each mice for determination of percentage parasitemia. Infectionwaswith 2 x 10 4 Plasmodium berghei. Mice administered 250 mg/kg body weight of BHEbatch4showed a significant decrease in percentage parasitemia as compared to the negative control group and this suggest that the bi-herbal combo has an impressive antimalarial activity

Abstract
In family formation it is an expected occurrence to procreate. In the event that couples are unable to, it could cause heartache disappointment and deprive such individuals of joy. However with the evolution of civilization, parenthood need not be a bother as surrogacy provides a path. Reliance on history indicates that surrogacy is not a new concept as it has been in existence since the time of Abraham and is fast becoming a rising trend in recent times. In Nigeria surrogacy is gaining popularity however, it is still in its infant stage as Nigeria’s legislation neither recognizes it nor forbids it. This has created confusion and ambiguities with regards to rights and duties of parties involved. The aim of this research is to awaken Nigeria’s National Assembly to their mandate; to enact a holistic body of rules to regulate surrogacy arrangements in the country.
