Abstract
This research work titled “A Morphological Analysis of Tiv Personal Names” examines the structure, formation processes, and meanings of Tiv names within the framework of morphological theory. The study aims to identify the morphological processes involved in Tiv name formation and explain how These processes reflect the linguistic creativity and worldview of the Tiv people. Data for the study were drawn from native speakers of Tiv and analyzed using four major theories of morphology— Item-and-Arrangement Theory, Word-and- Paradigm Theory, Generative Morphology, and Morphological Typology. The analysis revealed that Tiv names are not mere labels but meaningful linguistic expressions formed through systematic morphological processes such as compounding, affixation, and sentence formation. The findings further showed that Tiv names often take the form of complete sentences that express faith, gratitude, or personal experience, for example, Terdoo (“The Lord is good”), Ngumimi (“He is truth”), and Selumum (“We agree”). The study concludes that Tiv names serve as a rich linguistic resource that encodes the people’s spiritual beliefs, moral values, and social experiences. The research therefore establishes that Tiv is an agglutinative language whose naming system demonstrates rule-governed ord formation processes consistent with the principles of generative morphology. It recommends that further studies be carried out on the phonological and semantic dimensions of Tiv personal names, as well as comparative analyses with other Nigerian languages, to promote the preservation and appreciation of indigenous linguistic heritage.

Abstract
The outbreak of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Wuhan, China in 2019 was phenomenal. It significantly altered the patterns of political and economic behaviour across the globe. COVID-19 engineered the rise of new rhetoric and narratives in academic discourse. This includes the concept of covidnomics that espouses the intricate between COVID-19 and economics in general. As the impact of coronavirus on humanity begins to unfold gradually, its impact on the economy of nations in Africa is glaring. Among the many unprecedented economic challenges it engendered, the dramatic fall in the demand for goods and services in Nigeria and elsewhere in Africa stands tall. The result is that some manufacturers in the continent have been overwhelmed by the imbalance between demand and supply.1 The fall in demand under the pandemic had nothing to do with a lack of want on the part of the people but, it was a manifestation of the decline of human development index that had impeded consumers’ capacity to make demands of goods and services. In Nigeria and around the world, borders are being 8 closed and societies are having to change the way they live.2 As entire countries come under quarantine orders and consumers around the world try to reduce human contact, manufacturers need to recognize that their response to the novel COVID-19 Pandemic will have a significant impact on their business. Those that respond by rising up to the occasion would seek innovative ways of dealing with the situation, while those who react may struggle with adapting to the change they need to make to remain profitable and resilient in these times.3 Against this backdrop, this study seeks the impact of COVID-19 on commerce and human development in Nigeria.

CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE IGBOS TO THE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF LAGOS (1970-2015)

Abstract
The study extensively examined the contributions of the Igbo ethnic group to the growth and development of Lagos State between 1970 and 2015, revealing that the post-Civil War migration became a decisive force in shaping Nigeria's foremost commercial capital. The research established that the Igbo presence is deeply economic and structural in nature, profoundly influencing regional commerce and urban expansion. As Igbo entrepreneurs channeled their resilience and capital into Lagos, their dynamism resulted in the establishment of continental commercial hubs, including Alaba International, Ladipo Auto Spare Parts Market, and the Trade Fair Complex, which generate substantial internally generated revenue and employment. The study provides a comprehensive understanding of how the Igbaboi apprenticeship system served as a unique indigenous model for human capital development and upward mobility, sustaining the economic proliferation of the community. However, it demonstrated that despite these indispensable contributions, the Igbo community's role is continually undermined by the indigenesettler dichotomy and exclusionary urban policies. The study recommended, among others, that Lagos State should formally recognize and co-manage migrant-built markets and establish stronger frameworks for civic inclusion to reconcile economic indispensability with political equity for all residents.
