Abstract
This research investigates the environmental consequences of fast fashion consumption within Egor Local Government Area, specifically focusing on its contribution to pollution and the implications for environmental literacy within the community. The study explores the link between rising fast fashion consumption, increased textile waste generation, and its subsequent impact on land, water, and air quality. Additionally, it examines the community's awareness and understanding of these environmental issues, highlighting the need for improved environmental literacy. Through surveys, interviews, and waste analysis, the research assesses the extent of fast fashion consumption, identifies prevalent disposal methods for unwanted clothing, and analyzes the resulting environmental pollution. The findings are expected to reveal a gap in environmental knowledge and awareness regarding the detrimental effects of fast fashion. This lack of understanding underscores the importance of implementing educational initiatives that promote sustainable fashion choices, responsible consumption habits, and proper waste management practices. By examining the impact of fast fashion consumption on environmental pollution and highlighting the need for increased environmental literacy, this study aims to encourage a shift towards more sustainable fashion practices within Egor Local Government Area. Ultimately, the goal is to contribute to a cleaner environment and a more informed and environmentally conscious community.
