This study, anchored on the tenets of cultivation and uses and gratification theories, investigated the influence of the Big Brother Naija reality television show on the lifestyle of youth in Edo State. The study became necessary following the assumption that Big Brother Naija show has the abilities to positively or negatively influence viewership. Thus four hundred (400) youth, selected to reflect and represent the eighteen (18) Local Government Area (LGA) of Edo State, comprised the sample of this study. The
sample was selected through purposive, stratified random and random sampling techniques. An eleven (11) item questionnaire was used to generate data from the sample. Data generated were analyzed and presented with the aid of frequency tables,
simple percentage and mean score. Findings show that the extent to which youth are exposed to Big Brother Naija Show is very high. It was also revealed that the attitude of youth in Edo State towards Big Brother Naija show is very strong. It was also found that youth utilize the show for entertainment, education, information and socialization. However they are mostly entertained from watching the show. The study concluded that the Influence of Big Brother Naija Reality Television Show on youth is more
negative than positive. It concluded that the show remains a formidable force in moulding the lifestyle of youth in Edo State. It was therefore recommended that since reality shows such as Big Brother Naija has serious influence on youth, they must observe
caution while watching the programmes so that they don’t get addicted to the programme or it doesn’t affect their lifestyle negatively

This research carried out a pragmatic study of Edo proverbs on women. This research sought to answer two key questions, namely: What is the perception of women as reflected in the proverb? In what context are the proverbs used? The research used Relevance theory to analyze the data. Thirty proverbs on woman in Edo language were selected and analyzed in four categories, namely: the woman as a daughter; the woman as a wife; the woman as a female; the woman as a mother. The result revealed that women are seen as essential and important to the Edo people. The study also finds out that there is a minimal degree of derogatory proverbs on women in Edo language. The research also revealed that women are strong, zealous and hardworking as they are saddled with the responsibility of making and maintaining the home, birthing and caring for children as well as taking care of the husband. The data for this study are sourced from both primary and secondary data collection.

This project delves into the emergency and evolution of post proverbiums in Nigeria pidgin. Post proverbs have long served as a powerful medium of communication, cultural expression and social commentary in Nigeria. This study aims to explore the use of post proverbs in Nigeria pidgin, how post proverbs has successfully influenced the Nigerian society today.
The research methodology involves collecting and analysing a diverse range of proverbs from various sources, including literature, social media, conversations and media platforms through a combination of quantitative analysis. The findings of the study shed light on how Nigeria pidgin are used to express contemporary proverbs which reflects the modern society (technology, globalization,). Additionally, the study highlights the role of post proverbs in advising, entertaining and fostering oneness.
In conclusion, the research contributes to the understanding of evolving nature of post proverbs in Nigeria pidgin, since this area has not been properly researched on.
