Abstract
This study examines the impact of parental influence on the engagement of youth in community development in Esan Central LGA, Edo State. Using a survey research method, this study employed a purposive sampling technique to select participants. The findings reveal the significant role of parental influence in shaping youth attitudes and behaviors towards community development. The study highlights the importance of parental values, beliefs, and practices in fostering a sense of social responsibility and civic engagement among young people. The implications of the findings are discussed, with recommendations for policymakers, practitioners, and community leaders seeking to promote youth engagement and community development.
