Abstract
This study examined the prevalence of drug abuse among Secondary School Students in Egor Local Government Area of EDO State. Four research questions were raise to guide the study. The study adopted a survey research design. The population of the study consisted of all secondaryschool students in the selected Local Government Area of Edo State. A total of 100 secondary school students were randomly selected for the study. The instrument used for data collection was a structured 4questionnaire titled "Questionnaire of the Impact of Drug Abuse on Student Academic Performance". The instrument was validated by three experts in the Department of Educational Evaluation and Counselling Psychology. Reliability coefficient of 0.82 was obtained using Cronbach Alpha . The researcher personally administered the questionnaire to the respondents with the assistance of theclass teacher's and the school counsellors. The data collected from the respondents were analyzedusingdescriptive statistics such as mean and standard deviation to answer the research questions. Majority of male and female secondary school students in the study area are not daily drug abuser
and majority of them are not involved in drug abuse. The higher percentage of male are involvedindrugabuse rether than their female countapet
