Abstract
Due to industrialization, population growth and urbanization in Yenagoa and environs, anthropogenic activities are increasing daily and could introduce contaminants into soil and water resources.This study evaluated the causes, distribution, and environmental effects of heavy metal pollution in groundwater, surface water, and soil in Yenagoa and environs, Niger Delta, Southern Nigeria. The study sought to compare concentrations with control values for soil, surface and ground water, and regulatory standards (WHO and NSDWQ) for groundwater, as well as assess the degree and variability of heavy metal pollution across various anthropogenic sites, including waste disposal sites, mechanic shops, cassava mills, and areas affected by crude oil spills. A total of one hundred and twelve (112) samples were randomly collected for each season, including 77 soil samples depth 30cm and 35 surface and ground water samples. These samples were then evaluated using standard laboratory technique, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) during both the wet and dry seasons. Soil contamination levels were measured using pollution indicators such the Geo-accumulation Index (Igeo), Enrichment Factor (EF), Contamination Factor (CF), and Pollution Load Index (PLI), and groundwater quality was assessed in relation to allowable limits. Results showed that all site types exhibited elevated concentrations of key heavy metals including iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), and vanadium (V). ASSESSMENT OF AIR AND NOISE POLLUTION IN SAWMILLS AND ENVIRONS IN BENINCITY ,EDOSTATE

Abstract
This study assessed the levels of air and noise pollution generated by sawmill activities in selected locations within Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. The investigation focused on key air quality parameters including particulate matter (PM₂.₅ and PM₁₀), ozone (O₃), formaldehyde (HCHO), total volatile organic compounds (TVOC), carbon dioxide (CO₂), as well as environmental noise levels. Measurements were carried out using calibrated portable air quality monitors and sound level meters across five major sawmill locations. The aim was to determine the extent of environmental pollution, evaluate compliance with recommended standards, and examine potential health risks to workers and nearby residents. Results revealed that PM₂.₅ concentrations ranged from 24 µg/m³ to 43 µg/m³, while PM₁₀ values ranged from 46 µg/m³ to 68.5 µg/m³ across the sampled locations. Noise levels varied between 68.35 dB(A) and 74.8 dB(A). Ozone concentrations ranged from 0.01 ppm to 0.08 ppm, while CO₂ levels were recorded between 408 ppm and 482 ppm. In several locations, particulate matter levels exceeded the World Health Organization (WHO) 24-hour guideline limits, indicating degraded air quality. Noise measurements in most sites were also above the recommended 55 dB(A) limit for residential environments, suggesting potential risks of long-term exposure. The findings confirm that sawmill operations significantly contribute to environmental pollution within the study area. Elevated concentrations of PM₂.₅ and PM₁₀ pose respiratory health risks, while persistent exposure to high noise levels may result in hearing impairment, stress, and reduced productivity. The study highlights the need for stricter enforcement of environmental regulations, installation of dust control systems, proper zoning of industrial activities, and routine environmental monitoring. Implementing these measures will improve occupational safety and protect the health of surrounding communities.

Abstract
The studies investigate Undergraduate Student Perception Of Campus Dating In University Of Benin And Environs. The sample of the study comprises 150 respondents from the departments in the faculty of social sciences in the University of Benin. The instrument of data collection was a questionnaire. Five research questions aided this research. The research questions were answered using frequency table and simple percentage. Chapter One will introduce the Topic and problems and give a brief history of the subject matter, statement of the problem , research objective, research questions, significant of the study and scope of the study, Chapter Two will deal with review of relevant literature and also connect the project to Theoretical framework. Chapter Three deals with the method by which the research will be conducted . Chapter four will focus on the analysis and presentation of the research findings and also discuss them, to conclude the project chapter five will look at summary, limitation, conclusion and then give recommendation on how cohabitation among unmarried undergraduates can be better handled.
