This study investigates the public perception of the Nigerian police force in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State. Guided by the system theory, it explores how residents assess the performance, behavior and relationship ofthe police with the community. Using a descriptive survey design, data were collected from 100 randomly selected respondents from the age range of 18 years to 46 years and above through structured questionnaire and analyzed using simple percentages and frequency tables.
Findings shows that while the police force holds a vital role in the maintenance order, public -perception remains largely negative due to corruption, bribery, poor response to distress calls and police brutality. Respondents also identified inadequate training and low motivation as factors affecting police effectiveness. This study concluded that bridging the gap between police force and the community requires improved welfare, accountability and enhanced community policing initiatives to restore trust and credibility in the Nigerian Police Force.

Domestic violence remains a major social problem affecting women across the world. Studies have shown that globally, domestic violence accounts for a significant proportion of recorded crimes, with women being the most frequent victims. Women experience different forms of violence such as rape, physical battering, trafficking, and even murder. Although the level and nature of domestic violence vary from one society to another, its effects are often severe and far-reaching, leading to psychological, physical, emotional, and social disorders among victims.

In Nigeria, domestic violence cuts across different social, cultural, and economic groups, making it a persistent issue in society. Despite the efforts of international organizations such as the United Nations, through instruments like the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, as well as constitutional provisions aimed at promoting equality and protecting human rights, many Nigerian women continue to experience violence within their homes. Victims often face difficulties in obtaining justice due to social stigma, legal barriers, and inadequate institutional support.

This paper therefore examines the reported incidence of domestic violence against women, its various effects on victims, and the challenges associated with seeking justice. It further provides recommendations that may help reduce the occurrence of domestic violence and promote the protection of women’s rights in society.

The study examined the socio-Economic consequences of youth unemployment In Egor local government area of Edo State. The study adopted Survey research design. Combining quantitative and qualitative method Including questionnaire and In-depth Interview. Respondents were sampled using the simple random sampling to ensure qual representation from every respondents. Data analysis Involved descriptive statistics and Statistical package for social science(SPSS) . The findings reveal that youth unemployment lead to crime and drug abuse. The study concluded that youth unemployment is a complex phenomenon necessitating both government and private sectors to address the root causes. The study recommends that both public and private sectors should create job opportunities for youth by Investing in Industries and encouraging local production
