Abstract
The study focuses on The Influence of the use of Mobile Phone facilities on the Academic Achievement of Library and Information Science Students of University of Benin. The purpose of the study was aimed at identifying the level of the use of mobile phones facilities by Library and information science students in the University of Benin, determining the influence of mobile phones facilities on the academic performance of Library and information science students in the University of Benin, Ascertaining the extent to which the use of mobile phones facilities can influence the academic performance of undergraduate Library and information science students in the University of Benin, and Analyzing the problems of the use of mobile phones facilities on the academic performance of undergraduate Library and information science students in the University of Benin. A descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. A total of 328 comprising of 100 to 400 Level library and Information Science students were used as the total population of the study. A sample size of 100 was adopted to be used as the number of respondents. A questionnaire titled “Influence of the use of Mobile Phone facilities on the Academic Achievement of Library and Information Science Students of University of Benin Questionnaire (IUMPFOAALISSUBQ)” was designed by the researcher and used for data collection. A total of 100 copies of questionnaire were administered and 100 copies were duly completed, returned and found useable for this study. The instrument was subjected to face validation by the supervisor

THE IMPACT OF SHYNESS ON ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN EGOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA BENIN CITY EDO STATE

Abstract
The study investigated the impact of shyness on the academic achievements of secondary school students in Egor local government area, Benin city, Edo state. In order to achieve the purpose intended for the study, three research questions and two hypotheses were raised to guide the study. The study adopted a survey research design. The population of the study consisted of all secondary school students in Egor local government area. The simple random sampling technique was employed. A total sample size of 120 respondents were randomly selected from 3 public schools in Egor local government area. The instrument used for the study is a structured questionnaire titled "impact of shyness on academic achievements of secondary school students". The instrument was validated by the project supervisor and two other lecturers in the faculty of education. The Cronbach Alpha was used to determine the reliability of the instrument which yielded a coefficient of 0.867. The instrument was administered to the respondents with a visit to 3 public schools in Egor local government area. The data collected were analyzed into basic statistics for research question 1 and one sample t-Test for hypothesis 1 and independent samples t- Test for hypothesis 2. xi The findings revealed that while the overall level of shyness among students is moderate, it does not significantly influence their academic achievements and male and female students do not significantly differ in their level of shyness. It was recommended among others Offering support for shy students could help them feel more confident in their academic endeavor

Abstract
The principal aim of this research is to ascertain the influence of the home environment on academic achievement among secondary school students. To determine this, four research questions where formulated which comprises the questionnaire that was used to solicit factual information from students in (redo local Government area in Edo State through proportionate stratified random sampling techniques. The sample used consisted of hundred students. The data was analyzed by the use of percentages; the factor investigated includes performance of secondary school student in relation to parental socio economic status, parents involvement with school works and other variables in the home environment that may influence student achievement.

Abstract
This study examines whether years of teaching experience and teacher’s qualification influence the performance of students in Computer Science. Specifically, this study examines the influence of qualification and experience of computer teachers on the academic achievement of secondary school students in external examination. Four research questions were raised and research question 2 and 4 were hypothesized. The population of this study was made up of 10 Senior Secondary Schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area in Edo State. Samples of 100 teachers were drawn from the population through the process of simple random sampling technique, made up of 10 Secondary Schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area in Edo State. A questionnaire was the instrument use for data collection. 20 questionnaires were administered and returned. The teachers' responses were analyzed through content analysis using mean and standard deviation; t-test was used to analyze the hypothesis. The findings of the study revealed that: the qualification level of teachers teaching computer science in senior secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area in Edo State is above average; the experience level of teachers teaching computer science in senior secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area in Edo State is above average also; teaching experience and qualification influence students' academic achievement in Computer as measured by the response of the teachers to the questionnaire provided and as perceived by the respondents. Therefore, the study recommends that school districts should be careful about implementing policies that limit the number of years of experience for which a district will give credit, especially at the secondary school level. Also, Government should employ more qualified teachers into the system and with time they gain experience base on the years they have spent teaching and in turn transfer this experience into teaching
