Abstract
This study examined the influence of social demand, peer pressure, and economic stability on the behavioural patterns of secondary school students in Oredo Local Government Area. The study adopted a descriptive survey design, and a sample of two hundred students was selected through a random sampling technique. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection, and the reliability of the instrument was confirmed using Cronbach’s Alpha, which indicated a high level of internal consistency. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics, Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient, multiple regression analysis, and independent samples t test. The findings showed that social demand significantly influences students’ behavioural patterns, indicating that expectations from parents, teachers, and the community shape their behavioural responses. Peer pressure was also found to significantly affect students’ behaviour, suggesting that adolescents conform strongly to the influence of
their peers. The study further revealed that economic stability relates positively to behavioural patterns, showing that students from more financially stable households exhibit more positive behavioural responses. The combined analysis indicated that social demand, peer pressure, and economic stability jointly predict students’ behavioural patterns, accounting for 81.7 percent of the variance. The study also found no sex based differences in the influence of the three factors on behaviour. It was concluded that behavioural patterns among secondary school students are shaped by social, peer, and economic contexts, and that interventions should address these factors collectively. Recommendations were made for schools to manage social expectations, strengthen peer mentoring, support economically disadvantaged students, and enhance counselling services to promote positive behavioural outcomes.

Abstract
This study was carried out to examine the influence of peer pressure on the social behavior of adolescents in senior secondary schools. The study investigated the extent to which peer-related factors such as conformity, susceptibility, social expectations, family involvement, school environment, and cultural norms influence adolescent behavior during the secondary school stage. The research also examined how positive and negative forms of peer pressure shape students’ academic participation, social conduct, and decision-making patterns. A descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study consisted of senior secondary school students across selected schools, with a sample size of 450 adolescents drawn through stratified random sampling. The research instrument used was a structured questionnaire titled: Influence of Peer Pressure on Adolescent Social Behavior. The questionnaire was validated by experts in educational psychology and measurement evaluation.The major findings of the study revealed that peer pressure significantly influences adolescents’ behavior in school, with many students modifying their conduct to gain acceptance or avoid rejection. The findings further indicated that low self-esteem, lack of parental guidance, social media exposure, and unstable family structures increase adolescents’ susceptibility to negative peer influence. The results also showed that while negative peer pressure encourages risky and deviant behaviors, positive peer pressure promotes discipline, academic effort, and goal-setting. Based on the findings of this study, the following recommendations were made: parents should strengthen communication and emotional support; schools should adopt peer education and mentorship programmes; guidance counselors should intensify counseling services; and government should integrate life-skills training into school curricula to help students resist negative peer influences and embrace positive ones.

Abstract
This research work was carried out to examine the influence of peer pressure on the learning of Integrated Science in secondary schools in Ovia North East Local Government Area, Edo state. The essence of this study was to find out the influence of peer pressure on learning of Integrated Science, to identify the relationship between peer pressure and the learning of Integrated Science in secondary schools, to find out if peer pressure has a negative influence on students learning of Integrated Science and to know if peer pressure has a positive influence on student's learning of Integrated Science. The research methodology utilizes descriptive statistics with simple numbers and percentages and correlation analysis in the analysis and synthesizing of primary sources of data collected via questionnaire, as well as diverse literature on the area of study. The target population of the study was junior secondary school three (JSS3). The data collected was analyzed using simple percentage, and mean. The following findings were attained from the study: The influence of peer pressure on learning of Integrated Science in secondary schools is of high extent. That there is a significant relationship between peer pressure and learning of Integrated Science in secondary schools. Peer pressure doesn’t have a negative influence on student's learning of Integrated Science. Peer pressure has a positive influence on student's learning of Integrated Science. The researcher recommends that students should be encouraged to choose their friend wisely as some have negative influence on their academic performance, especially those who sneak out of school, use drugs and those who do not attend school regularly. Teachers and other educational practitioners, need to have knowledge of the effects of peer group pressure and understanding of the issues surrounding negative peer influence to prevent negative peer influence and be more adequately prepared to help a teenager facing negative aspects of peer pressure
