Abstract
The aim of this study is to undertake the design of a water treatment plant adequate in serving a semi-urban area based on a surface water supply system, this will enhance public health by providing safe and portable water to a semi-urban area. The project focuses more on surface water source and the contaminants found in surface water in a semi-urban area. The method used to carry out this project includes; the determination of the population of a semi-urban area, water demand/requirements and characteristics of a surface water source in a semi-urban area. The various design units will be size accordingly to the requirements of a semi-urban area. The result of this work includes complete design of the units in the treatment plant. Adequate design and sizing of the screening chamber, Pre-sedimentation tank, coagulation, flocculation and clarification, filtration and disinfection to contain the need for a semi-urban area. This result helps to improve the knowledge and understanding of the design of a water treatment plant for a surface water source in a semi-urban area

Abstract
Clean water is a very vital aspect of human survival and sustainability. This project focuses on improving the mini water treatment plant in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Benin. The system is designed to improve the quality of drinking water being produced meeting the WHO standard for Nigerian drinking water. The project involves looking into the issues with the previous design and recommending the best solution that will address those issues. This includes system redesign and replacement of complex components with simpler user-friendly component. The report also addresses various kinds of water treatment method both past and present, their advantages and disadvantages and how the various water treatment methods have evolved over time. The results shows the efficiency of each component in the line of purification and the effect of improving the system as tests were carried out on six samples on different points along the line of purification. This project has not only enhanced drinking water quality but can also serve as a small-scale water treatment system for rural areas and areas that lack access to potable water

Abstract
The study was carried out to find out the assessment of biology student academic achievement on supporting tissue in plant in senior secondary school. The procedure used or adopted are sample and sampling techinques, respondents were selected randomly, fifty respondents from each school. The study aim is to identify and described the assessment of biology student academic achievement on supporting tissue in plant. Assessment of effective teaching is crucial in other for student to reach educational success in and outside the classroom setting, some factors need to be consider which some of them are unqualified biology teacher, poor methods of teaching biology, inadequate supply of biology equiptment, here are also some factors that affects academic achievement performance such as intellectual level, personality, smotivation, interest, study habits, teacher and student relationship. the student’s recommend that the ministry of education and principals should give encouragement to student and teacher by supporting activities that lead to adequate teaching and learning such as, seminars, workshop ,should be organized for the student because no educational system can grow above itsteacher.
