This study aimed at investigating the influence of funding in public primary schools at Egor Local Government Area of Edo State, Benin City. The descriptive survey research design was employed in the study. The population consists of 29 public secondary schools in Egor Local Government Area. A percentage of 38% of the entire population was taken as a sample for the study, making 11 schools. The instrument of data collection was questionnaire which was divided into two parts. The first part consisted of demographic data of respondents while the second parts. The first part consisted of demographic state of respondents while the second part consisted of data on the influence of funding in public primary schools. Data collected was analyzed using frequency percentage mean and standard deviation. The study found that there is low level of funding in public primary schools and the major source of revenue for the school is the government which is inadequate. In as much as this fund is inadequate for the school, some corrupt officials still finds their way to embezzle the money. The study recommends therefore that government should increase their budgetary allocation to education to help them run the school effectively and efficiently. Schools should also use other sources of funding rather than the one from the government in financing the school. A body should be set up to monitor the funds allocated to school to eliminate corruption among officials.
