Abstract
The Study Examined “A Survey of The Disposition Of Students Towards The Study Of Literature -In-English In Selected Senior Secondary Schools In Benin Metropolis”. Six research questions were used to guide the study. The research model was administered with the aid of a Questionnaire which was used to guide the study. The population of the study consist of two thousand seven hundred and sixty (2760) SSII students from the 13 Secondary schools in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State. The
sample of the study consists of one hundred and twenty (120) senior secondary school students, selected using the simple random sampling techniques. out of the three local Government Area selected in Benin metropolis. forty students from Egor local government and forty students from Oredo and 40 students from Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, were randomly selected from each school bringing the total number of students sampled to one hundred and twenty(120). The reliability of the research instrument was determined using the Cronbach’s Alpha reliability coefficient to measure the internal consistency of the questionnaire. The Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient obtained was above 0.72, indicating a high level of reliability and consistency
of the instrument. Descriptive statistical techniques (frequency distribution and simple percentage) were employed to analyze field data from questionnaires to assist in the interpretation of data.
