ANALYSIS AND FACTORS AFFECTING WORKSHOP PRACTICE IN TEACHING AND LEARING TECHNOLOGY IN TVET

Abstract
This study was carried out to investigate and analyze the factors affecting workshop practice in teaching and learning technology in tvet in the University of Benin. The data collected was analyzed on the basis of four research questions. This study consist of eighty sample using total population of students from 300 to 400 level in Industrial and Technical Education Department of Vocational and Technical Education University of Benin 2017/2018 session. The major instrument for data collection was based
on questionnaire and was validated by the supervisor and two other lecturers in the department of vocational and technical education and the reliability was done by administering to twenty other students who were not part of the sample before it was
administered to the respondents. The reliability coefficient obtained by split half method was 0.72. The statistical tool used for the data analysis and findings was the frequency count and simple percentage. Finally, it was concluded that society, parents, gender, peer group, and interest positively affect workshop practice in teaching and learning technology in tvet
