Abstract
he purpose of this research is to examine and criticize Post Independent Nigeria. Festus Iyayi's novels; Violence and The Contract is a representation of the Nigerian system, these novels mirrors the Nigerian society beginning from the leaders to the common man. This research aims at exposing the critical issues Nigeria faced at her independence and is still facing till this day. He exposes these critical issues so as to make Nigerians aware of these problems and find solutions to them.
