Abstract
Nigeria and China, two populous nations with rich histories, have developed a multifaceted and unique relationship over the years. Nigeria, located in West Africa, gained independence from British colonial rule in 1960, while China, situated in East Asia, underwent significant political and social transformations throughout the 20th century. Early commerce interactions, cultural exchanges, and joint resistance to imperialism and colonialism had roles in the development of their relationship.1 Chinese explorers of maritime routes and contacts with local populations along the West African Coast helped establish China’s foothold in West Africa centuries ago. These early exchanges involved the sharing of cultural influences, ideas, and commodities With its numerous resources and advantageous location, Nigeria significantly contributed to the facilitation of these economic links.
