Abstract
This study investigates the influence of instructional media on students' motivation to learn chemistry in senior secondary schools within the Egor Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria. The research employs a descriptive survey design, with a sample of 200 students randomly selected from five different secondary schools. The data was collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistics, including frequencies and percentages. The findings reveal that the use of instructional media, such as animations, simulations, and videos, has a moderate impact on students' motivation to learn chemistry. While some instructional media effectively facilitate learning, others obstruct it due to limited access, particularly in urban settings. The study also finds that different instructional media appeal to students in varying ways, enhancing motivation by catering to diverse learning styles and providing interactive experiences.
