Abstract
This study investigated the Attitude of Mass Communication Students in University of Benin towards the Use of Instagram. This study adopted the descriptive survey design which is the process of looking at something in entirety. The investigation was carried out within the Department of Mass Communication, University of Benin, Ekenwan campus Based on the survey
methodology and random sampling technique, the questionnaire was used for data collection. Four hundred (400) Respondents were sampled data was analyzed in simple percentage and presented in tables. Findings reveal that the reason students use the Instagram application in their daily life is that the application provides interesting and unique features. The use of Instagram can have an impact on its users, both good and bad effects. The lifestyle offered by Instagram attracts the attention of many people and is currently becoming a trend, so it is largely influenced by the lifestyle offered by Instagram. Also, the study recommended that the traditional media like the television and radio broadcast as well as newspapers should through their routine activities discourage the abuse of social media in the country. This can be done through the organization of a discourse on the phenomenon of social media, or through advertisements and publication of write-ups and research of this nature.
