Abstract
Good health is central to human happiness and well-being. Quality health is necessary for the maintenance and improvement of standard of living which in turn increases productivity, reduces high rate of absenteeism either towards ones occupation or academics, Improves academic performance and reduces the transmission of common diseases. Health Centre’s are community-based and patient-directed organizations that deliver comprehensive, culturally competent, high quality primary health care services. The purpose of the study was to assess the level of utilization of the University health Centre among full time undergraduate of the University of Benin. The study discusses important aspect such as concept of PHC, declaration of Alma- ata, overview of health Centre, utilization of health Centre, service utilization and health seeking behaviour, perceived factors influencing the non- utilization of the health Centre. The descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study and a structured questionnaire containing twenty (20) items was used to collect data. The systematic random sampling technique was used. The population of the study was thirty nine thousand two hundred and forty three (39,243), representing full time undergraduates of the University of Benin with a sample size of one hundred and eighty two 182 undergraduates purposively selected from four faculties.
